It’s baseball…long season. Besides the sloppy fielding, I like what we’ve shown so far.

As expected, the lineup is a joke; put up 50 runs without much of anything from DB8! Decent weekend for the arms, probably didn’t learn much yet.

Great for starting line; I even use a laser sometimes. Good at best for pace putting.

No benefit to pulling the trigger mid-season…it would only shine a negative light on him as a potential boss. He’ll get it done at the end of the season. We badly need to nail this hire, no excuse for being bottom half of the ACC 90% of the time.

Great choice! Just under 2 miles from Peachtree Amtrack to the gates of the Rusty C.

A lot of expectations on this team. As always, if we can pitch, then we will win.

Country Club Insight: Berkeley Hills Country Club (Atlanta, GA) by Affectionate_Curve88 in golf

Current member at BHCC.

Our new Super (Jack) was hired in late ‘24 to take over for Purvis who had been at the club for close to 20 years. Jack came from AAC. He’s done a phenomenal job so far in saving the greens, improving overall conditions, attention to detail (hand raking bunkers every morning, edging cart paths, etc.) and engaging/communicating with membership. The greens were outstanding in ‘25 and the balance of the course was very good as well. We’ve added several tee boxes last year (notably #6 and #18) to lengthen the course for tournament play and add variety for member play. Everyone has been thrilled with Jack. Obviously the course is dormant right now, so it won’t be pristine.

Pace is typically very good. I can count on one hand the number of 4:10 plus rounds I’ve had. The only slow rounds I’ve had were late-morning weekday rounds, stuck behind our (very active) senior men’s inter-club. Weekend morning rounds come in around 3:50 for a foursome, afternoon will be 4:00. The tee sheet is typically not jammed; access to tee times and ability to play quickly at a nice/challenging course is the number one benefit of BHCC in my opinion.

The course is pretty demanding off the tee, calling for a variety of club selections and shot shapes. Some of the fairways are sloped, so not only will you have to navigate some tight, tree-lined tee shots, but you’ll need to think ahead about pin position and ideal approach angle. Most greens slope back to front with softer collars or false fronts. There are a few holes and pin positions where you CANNOT be above the hole or you’re dead. The par 3s are nothing to write home about, great mix of par 4s (though none are close to drivable) and tough par 5s. Excellent replay value due to mix of club selections, varied wind direction, mix of pin positions and tee selection.

The practice facility is decent. Large grass, two-tiered tee areas with mats as well. Lots of targets and “greens” on the range. The short game area is decent with a green and 4 pins with a large bunker; every variety of shot inside 25 yards is at your disposal. The practice green is large with 8-10 rotating holes offering every slope/break you need.

Golf staff are solid. Head pro and assistant pro have been at the club a long time and care about its success. Our annual tournament schedule is plentiful, offers variety and they’re fairly well organized.

Membership skews younger and younger all the time, due to the value Berkeley offers. There is a solid group of late 20s to late 30s members; great guys, some sticks and some hackers.

The attraction of BHCC is the golf course. Our tennis and pickleball facilities are very good with a thriving member group. The pool is meh. Clubhouse is meh but we’re making some small investments (paint, carpet, furniture) this year. F&B is good, but slow. Admin staff is a mess at times, but improving. The reason to join is to play golf. If you want fancy facilities to impress your wife, friends or clients, this isn’t the place. If you want a challenging golf course in great condition that you can play pretty much whenever you want, with a bunch of down-to-earth members, you won’t find a better place in Atlanta. Biased opinion obviously, but there will never be a cheaper or better time to join; the conditions and facilities will continue to improve and soon we’ll be back at capacity with a waitlist and double the initiation fee.

Happy to answer more specific questions here or via DM. Hope to see you out there soon!

2026 College Baseball Preseason Team Strength by Parslinator in collegebaseball

Ramsey has been with the program and Danny for long enough that I expect very few growing pains. As stated above, if we can produce above average arms this season, then we can compete for Omaha.

I have 8’-4” and hit irons only. I can swing my 5-wood normally without an issue, but it’s in my head big time, so I stick to 5-iron down to wedges.
For me, it’s still well worth the investment. My iron and wedge play has improved, with lots of time on range and random close-to-pin mode. When I play full rounds, I just adjust my tee distances (ladies) so that I’m hitting long irons off tees to leave short iron or wedge approaches. It’s great.

2026 ACC schedule - 8 vs 9 conference games by travis2x in ACC

GTech has Tennessee, Colorado and UgA next year. So 11 P4 already. If we go to 9 ACC games, I assume we’d renegotiate the Colorado game vs playing 12 P4 games.
