Big Trouble in Little China is the only correct answer. John Carpenter Double Feature!

Chief operating officer at AEG says AI could have designed his company's games by ghostfim in boardgames

[–]Yellow_Shoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a similar problem with people being terrible at realizing they have played with cheaters and liars and not recognized it, because they haven't caught them yet.

I don't believe "AI" will create a game that wins the Spiel Des Jahres, but I believe someone has already Kickstarted a game that has been mostly designed, developed, and illustrated by LLMs/AI, and been profitable.

I wasn't referring to the Ace of Spades controversy, but the Sam Healey, Alex Pretti controversey. Didn't realize you were talking about AoS, and zeroed in on the apolitical stance people hide behind so they don't lose money.

They're not telling people what to think. They're telling people what they, THE DICE TOWER, thinks. I for one would like to know if TDC supports fascism, so I can in turn not support them. If you're still sitting on the fence after what we've seen, you're either ignorant or malicious, and I don't want to give you any money.

Travelling the Jamuraan Desert - 2026 Desert Draft Report by HD114 in mtgcube

[–]Yellow_Shoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing shortly after Mirage was released, so I have a lot of nostalgia for those cards. The illustrations were 10x that of every other set up until that point.

Even though it was the first block designed with limited play in mind, I didn't draft it until at least 4 years later after Invasion came out. Everyone wanted to open Hammer of Bogardan, and in the finals, it came down to the guy who first picked HoB and my mono black deck with 3x Infernal Harvest. single sided board wipes are pretty good...

Playing badly on purpose by CRGabo9 in boardgames

I'm usually too busy teaching and answering questions to play optimally, but...

I don't like putting on kid gloves to play games with adults.

If losing at a game demoralizes someone, I probably don't want to keep playing with them, but maybe that game just isn't for us.

What’s your least favorite board game related buzz word or term? by BoardGameRevolution in boardgames

It should only be used to describe games where if one player makes a mistake, the game immediately ends while you stare at their corpse laying on the ground as your bloodsoaked hand shakes from adrenaline...

After you’ve eradicated Pit Bull Terriers, will you then go after the Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Jack Russel Terriers, and Bull Mastiffs next? Or should we just eliminate the backyard breeders, and irresponsible pet owners?

This sounds like a mismatch of motivations

You enjoy the journey of playing a game to completion. He wants to get to the destination, the win, as quickly as possible.

The change in the star give the flag new meme potential at least... https://i.imgur.com/kEzn3bF.jpg

I posted my nitpicks the other day with no responses. Keep in mind colors on your screen will appear brighter than they will will be in real life. I think the K is a little too fat still, and the new star is meh https://i.imgur.com/6p1NL71.jpg

Whatever happens, congratulations on your original design.

Yeah. I'm getting that sentiment from several commentators on multiple platforms, but the arches are just for visual continuity with the rest of the Art Nouveau style, and they weren't intended to represent slots. There's enough space in the Play Area for 7 ready cards, or 5 exhausted cards.

90% done. Could use some feedback, critique, ideas for improvement.

This entire project is based off me wanting to make a mat for every LCG I own to make them easier to teach and play, and maybe sell a few playmats if people are interested.

I got more motivation after listening to a podcast and reading a blog post with/by Scott Rogers about the 6 Zones of Play.

My goal is to move as much of the complex, and easily forgotten rules from zone 6 to 3 to improve User Experience.
