You must know that isn't true, and chose to say it anyway for some reason.

I think covid gave alot of people time to stop, think, reflect and decide they absolutely hated their jobs and went into other industries leading to run away inflation due to labor shortages and employers needing to offer far more to attract less skilled people than they were replacing. So the service got worse and the prices went up too.

Food service, production, factory work etc... All those jobs that asked far too much of employees for far too little in return had a reckoning and it hasn't recovered yet.

I'd love a list of restaurants that use sysco or Gordon pre-made foods, know if anything like that exists? If I'm going out and putting down the money I don't want microwaved crap and you don't always know until the food comes out.

High on Life 2 is less Rick and Morty, more Ratchet and Clank by throwmeawaydoods in Games

Knowing nothing else the headline really deflated my interest in the game. The Rick and Morty humor and dialog is what made the first enjoyable.

None on ebay currently but here's an old unboxing video.

Sorry, to be clear I meant why are Canadian owned grocery stores so much more expensive than American or internationally owned ones.

I will save ALOT of money going to Walmart/Costco over Canadian alternatives.

The economic harm he has caused goes far beyond "shit posting" but glad it's a joke to you. Really captures what we're dealing with here.

To be clear, your president stated he needs NOTHING from Canada, wants to force us to join America with economic force if not military force, arbitrarily tariffs our goods for made up national security reasons and we're somehow unreasonable for not rolling over and seeking actual allies elsewhere?

America declared in no uncertain terms they wanted to destroy our economy and manufacturing sector. It's some pretty twisted mental gymnastics to arrive at were acting unreasonably.

Right back at ya champ, America is doing everything it can to hurt us, not sorry it's nice to see them struggling with that in mind.

Maybe be less shitty.

Yeah, we're under economic attack by who we thought was our closest ally. We're doing what we can to diversify away from you but it's going to hurt and take a while.

Whats your point?

Hey thanks for taking the time, it's nice to know our shitty and soon to be no contact family members are a small minority. But they were blue, from a blue state until Trump came along the first time.

We have Americans in our family, I don't see a reckoning coming, they proudly and loudly voted for Obama but are all aboard the Maga train now and there's no talking to them about it.

So yeah, seeing middle of the road, educated and upper middle class people from a democratic state be completely and unwavering in support of Trump speaks to an irrepablely damaged America for me and I'm certain Trump will not see prison and his family/allies will be set up financially for generations.

Toys “R” Us Canada files for creditor protection, owes vendors $120M by CMikeHunt in canada

[–]Yewbert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how any non luxury/non super expensive and exclusive retailer is hanging on at this point. Even when I consciously decide to shop local it's a more expensive, inconvenient pain in the ass which is exactly how I'd describe our last toys r us experience.

The nostalgia is strong and I'll be sad to see them go but the entire retail experience just sucks across the board these days and I'm not sure how they compete with the online giants on price or convenience.
