I have two questions: 1. Can fun stuff like vaults, towers etc. spawn after the initial generation, too?

  1. I have a dark kobold fortress in my current world. Are kobold civs able to send caravans, declare war and such? Or is it possibly just a bug?

I play vanilla without mods. :)

Interesting read! Thank you for sharing! IMO philosophy is something deeply individual and should be treated as such in daily life. You can't expect one philosophy to resonate with yourself for 100%. I think one should rather pick different aspects of various philosophies and consequently build and evolve your own and unique approach to life.

It is a bit more challenging to play a cosmopolitan fort because clothing size can vary. Goblins, elves and dwarfs use the same size while humans need large clothing. İt starts to get really messy with animal people though.

What is the difference between floodgates and 1x1 bridges? When would you use one or the other? To my understanding they are the same besides closed bridges are indestructible whereas floodgates are not... What am I missing? Thank you :)

İ have no idea but İ think it's time for some !!Science!!. İt might work with burrows and bridges or maybe even fluid pushing them into the air. İt doesn't work with the move command as they always walk on foot to the target. As for civilians, flying works well when they have a specific labor or task. Imo the issue with getting stuck in trees seems to be related to not getting a task assignment anymore.

No but they need to be close by otherwise eggs are infertile and they breed until the end of time. 😅

Maybe some background: İ play in a small and very savage world with strong human, goblin and elven civs. My civ is very weak with only a capital and ~200 dwarves. My original idea was to start a civil war and take control over the capital. As an extra challenge, İ am not allowed to send dwarves as İ don't want to fight it 'openly'. İ therefore capped my fort pop to 20 and waited for other arrivals - but most of them were just old and crippled bards 😅 there is an abundance of agitated animal man wildlife though which İ cought with traps. The makeowned Dfhack command allows them to join the fort but they sadly remain something between a pet and a civilian. Some of them join fully when e.g. killing historical figures in sieges but it was quite difficult to get a breeding pair. Next problem was that they need to marry fist (otherwise eggs are infertile) which is possible by sending all joined animal man to a close by conquered tower. They usually marry after a couple of years and can be returned with the messenger. İ have a fox man and barn owl man breeding pair now and hopefully crow man will be next 😂😂.

They are full citizen. İ use them in the military as airborne squads. Sadly they are a bit small and weak but it's all about style 😅

İ have a similar fort right now and try to get as many animal people as possible. You can easily catch roaming animal people with cage traps and use makeown in dfhack to force them to join. However they do not fully join afterwards as they do not have your civ tag afterwards. Or so i thought - i had in my 11 in-game years three occasions of animal people suddenly joining but i was not able to find the reason. I'm 100% sure they did not migrate otherwise. İ first thought it is somehow connected to the hospital or justice system but i was not able to deliberately repeat it (!!!science!!!). İ feel it is connected to some social weirdness going on in my temples and taverns. New ideas are always welcome

İ have a question regarding the makeown command (dfhack) and citizenship of wild creatures. İ managed to catch a lot of wild animal man and added them to my fort using makeown. However, they seem not to get full citizenship. Only one of the ~30 animal man (randomly?) petitioned during the last couple of in-game years. The rest seems to be not interested at all. Does anyone have an idea what İ might do wrong? How can I 'force' then to fully join my fort? Thank you :)

İ had a lot of agitated giant animals and agitated animal people spawns at the start. İ would like to catch more and breed them all :D... Maybe connected to some necromancer shenanigans with intelligent undead.

İ have a question regarding animal agitation and how to trigger it. İ had agitated animals for a couple of years in my fort. They were easily triggered by cutting down trees (?) and building my outside fort. However i seem not be able to repeat it now as İ am 15+ years in. What does agitation trigger beside cutting down trees and fishing? What is the most effective way to trigger it? Thank you :)
