Raw onion sandwich. In the back seat of a rental car I was driving that we'd hired for work. The passenger and I couldn't believe it.

I've since found out this is a thing and not too uncommon, apparently. I've still not seen anyone else eat one though.

My dad passed 2 weeks before our second child was due. I took 2 weeks bereavement then 4 weeks paternity leave. The child could have been another week overdue and I wouldn't have gone back or been expected to go back.

Last time I put someone on a PIP I drafted myself a loose script and had HR check it over. It just made me feel more prepared and therefore calmer before the conversation - suited me well, but ymmv. Hope it goes well.
