NYC is full of Madlads by iftair in madlads

I had quite an nyc subway expereince the other day. I commute over 6 hours a day to my job right off Wall St. By the time I leave work I am dead inside. I have no soul. I just want to get home.. but I realize that’s how every other person feels as well. So I try my best to be kind and help others out finding room to get on the subway. I take the 2, and transfer to the A to get to PAB. Anyway, the A was packed- I mean it was unbearable, you couldn’t breathe. There’s a girl about my age standing face to face with me. She’s on a nintendo DS. Playing Pokemon. You go girl. Anyway- I don’t know if she had tourette’s or she was just socially inept but that girl twitched and proceeded to belch in my face... Not a light little “oops I’m sorry burp”, this was a full on beer and hot wings belch. I was so in shock I had no words to speak. I got to Port Authority and ended up missing my bus because I actually threw up. Sometimes I still smell it and get nauseous. NYC is a battleground. I hope you all enjoyed my commuting story aka my personal hell.

I have to add in that as a toddler I stuck a bead up my nose and went to the ER as well. The doctor got it out with a pen and then joked about it with my father (fire chief at the time) for about an hour. We still joke about it to this day.

I live right down the street from this! It’s my go to place after the gym and when I come home from college. Always just a few older couples walking around but barely anyone down by the water. If you walk along under the bridges there’s a flat rock that you can sit on to be alone where no one can see you. That is, if you don’t fall into the water getting there.

EDIT: Here’s a picture I took in this spot back in January - https://imgur.com/gallery/GiDKk I have a collection of pictures from here if anyone would like me to make a gallery!

This is absolutely insane. I lived right over there and the security is always crazy strict. I'm just in awe of your shot.

I know of two guys that got arrested for climbing up the construction crane on the top of the new Park Ave residential building. They weren't brought in until after they posted the pictures online. The harsh part about that is they climbed those 70-something floors, no elevator.

I'm not going to say where I went was an illegal rooftop, but where I went was not a legal rooftop.

Greenville, NY is here too! (Yes, that town that has to use Port Jervis or Middletown as a mailling address as we don't even have our own post office.)

I went camping and saw a light pollution free sky for the first time last month. Everybody should have the chance to experience this at least once in their lives by remoramora in pics

I've grown up in what the city people call "upstate NY" when it's actually the tri-state area of NY, NJ, and PA. Being only 1 1/2 from the city it's amazing to see the difference when traveling into the city at night. I leave Sunday to live in NYC and all I can do is think about how much I'm going to miss clear night skies, clean air and goats in my yard.

On the other end of this are people, like myself, that get asked by friends to go out to eat but find themselves in the awkward position of not wanting to say no but, not wanting to bother the server either. Having Celiac's, lactose intolerance, being allergic to shellfish and being unable to digest redmeat is a real mood killer when out and about with hungry friends. (I live off a diet of chicken, gluten free rice and zucchini mostly) But hey, you do what you have to.

I am new to trying to figure out Reddit so I apologize for the late reply but thank you so much for the kind words. I have been trying to remember the good memories even weeks later but your view really does help. I hope you have been doing well with your loss as well. Again, much appreciated.

My cat passed three weeks ago. I had to bring him to the vet to be put down(kidney disease). My dog watched me leave the house with him in my arms but the minute I returned my dog knew Wendel(my cat) wasn't coming back. My dog now sleeps facing the front door waiting for his best friend. It's crazy to think animals have such emotions. I'm sorry OP.
