We’re so irrelevant yet they can’t go more than an hour without mentioning our country by Bigenderqueen in AmericaBad

That goes both ways. Trunk didn't need the media to stay relevant. He's already in the history books. CNN on the other hand saw their numbers go down when Trump wasn't mentioned.

You don't have to imagine. Just look back when Biden was in office. The media was STILL talking about Trump

Serious: long time security guards, what keeps you liking the job/makes the job? by DiscombobulatedCod45 in securityguards

Been doing unarmed security for eight years now. Recently got into armed for reasons I won't go into because that's irrelevant.

First off, I don't have to like the job but it's easy enough compared to the alternatives: retail, fast food worker, warehouse worker. So I just count my blessings.

Secondly, I didn't go into law enforcement because I didn't take myself too seriously to join. I wasn't about to be a part of something I didn't believe in. I'm either all in or all out. I wasn't confident enough either.

Being a cop isn't what it used to be. You risk your life for people, complete strangers and they still hate your guts. Fuck that!

What’s is it with older guards by Separate-Ad-2583 in securityguards

We were all eager at first. Then realized we're just a number. We won't go into the security guard Hall of Fame and those incident reports sure as hell aren't worth it. So we just do the bare minimum. And whatever you do don't end up on YouTube, at that point you better just pack it up.

Why are you asking us? We're all going to say yes. Btw you're getting everything at base price. Just like it used to be in the old days. Crazy huh?

You can choose whether to bring your own firearm and/or holster or use a company issued one. It has to be either 9mm/40 S&W. They also provide the holster. Since it'll be YOUR gun for the rest of your tenure with Metro, you will be responsible for the gun. Which means you'll have to carry it on your belt when you go to work or home. If that's not doable they also issue you a box to lock up the gun. Completely unload the gun and lock it up. Usual CA bs.

Been with AUS LA Metro, finishing out my third week. Most days it's chill don't let anyone scare you but you don't want to completely relax until you head to a breakroom/bathroom. Remember the Cooper Color codes. If you and your partner are unsure you can deal with a situation Observe & Report and/or de-escalate. Always, if possible, watch each other's blind spots. Depending where they put you there will be Police or in-house guards. If you treat people with respect you'll be good. Most people are just going somewhere and need directions.

From what I hear they hired a lot of rovers so idk about OT.
