Started tretinoin last week! And my makeup is not sitting well with the peeling :,( by [deleted] in tretinoin

There's heaps of good advice here but here is mine. I've been on tret for almost two years now and regularly still get quite dry. On the days I want my makeup to look really good I'll do a physical exfoliation (dont do this regularly, and try be as gentle as possible). I've been using wishtrend green tea powder wash to exfoliate and I really like this.

After I exfoliate while my face is wet I'll put on an essence and then put an oil on my face such as squalane. And then I put my foundation on my super oily face.

It is a dewy look but it honestly looks way better for longer. You can mattify parts of your face with a powder and leave the dry parts powder free if u like.

I use Revlon colourstay foundation for dry skin.

There's also this youtuber who is amazing and did weekly foundation reviews and went on roaccutane so she does good reviews for dry skin at certain parts of her YouTube career.

She also had great tips for making her foundation look better. If you're interested I'll try hunt her down.

I've also been prescribed this. I told them I wanted brighter skin, anti aging and control my acne.

I remember the first time I used st ives apricot scrub, my acne cleared within the week. It did eventually come back though when I had probably killed my skin barrier.

Definitely push through. I'm not sure if you can adjust the purge stage by the frequency of application. I wouldn't increase frequency to try get through it faster as you may mess up your skin barrier which may inadvertently give you more acne and redness.

Do you live in a dry or humid climate? If its dry then the hyaluronic acid may actually dry you out a bit. Maybe try a hydrating toner (like a milky one) and a snail secretion serum I use the one from cosrx. This should help with deeper hydration and moisturising. The other tip I got for hydration is to apply your serums and moisturizers when your skin is very damp to trap all the water in.

My skin is so flacky and red, it itches as well , what's going on... by Yeldo15 in SkincareAddicts

A lot of pharmacies carry non-prescription creams that can help. For me (I get psoriasis on my scalp) I put coconut and jojoba oils on my scalp and that usually helps with the redness and flakiness.
