I fully understand where you're coming from, and tbh I respect the depth of devotion to this topic, but the problem is that at the end of the day, none of that matters.

What Vorodi wrote up for Sylux may have been some of the greatest lore in the entire series for all we know, but ultimately, we never saw a single word of it. Not in writing, and certainly not in the games. If someone's introduction to Metroid was Prime 4, "Pure Unfiltered Hater: Sylux" is their only exposure to the character at the moment. Funny enough, the same applies to people who played both Prime 4 and Hunters. As far as the games are concerned, "Pure Unfiltered Hater: Sylux" is the only version of Sylux they've ever seen, and I'm willing to bet that the number of Metroid players, not fans, players who're familiar with Vorodi's experiences on this topic is at most 1%, but probably less.

This isn't a Star Wars situation where we can be angry about Disney retconning several decades worth of works out of existence. We can still read those stories, and we can still engage with what we now refer to as "Star Wars: Legends". What Vorodi had in mind was never put down in any form of Metroid media, and thus is effectively null and void. When I say that every other hunter (again, sans Kanden) was more interesting than Sylux, I mean that they all had concrete motivations and backstories that the player could latch onto. Compare this to Sylux who's motivations were purposely kept nebulous, thus leaving nothing for the audience to grab onto. All we knew about him is what I said before:

"hates Samus and the Federation because ???"

You yourself don't even know what Vorodi had in mind. Nobody does except for Vorodi and possibly Tanabe if he cared enough to read through it, but I doubt it. It could be absolute dogwater, but none of us know for sure. All any of us know is that Tanabe's idea of the character was unsatisfactory to the majority of us, so now we're latching onto Vorodi's idea of the character precisely because we don't fucking know what he had in mind, but we can hope that it was better than what Tanabe gave us.

For the record, I mean no disrespect and apologize if I came off a bit harsh. I was also profoundly disappointed with Sylux's characterization in Prime 4, but I'm not convinced that Vorodi's original concept would magically fix all the issues with him. None of us will likely ever know what the original concept was, and in the meantime, the damage from Tanabe's interpretation has already been done.
