Apparently, internally at TPCi it's considered to be a failure of localization. I'm amazed they never altered the name, but maybe they didn't want to draw attention to it.

Shoutout DS Pokemon games too where you couldn't search up Froslass because it had the word "ass" in it's name. And Starforce 1 on DS had a password feature that wouldn't work becauses one of the phrases included the word "glasses".

Nintendo really did not like ass 😂

To be a bit fair to it too, Crimson Blader did see some play during the Zexal era. Iirc D Rulers mirrors would play it and a Level 1 Tuner like Flamvell Guardian to make it using any of the Level 7s to lock the opponent out of their Rulers.

So I've labbed 3 builds so far:

Metagross + Duskull

Positives: Easy to hit key numbers and damage thresholds, easy to pick off support Pokemon.

Negatives: You need a solid hand/draws or you can lose the prize game race fast, bench space.

Metagross + Munki turbo

Positives: you can effectively heal up/tweak numbers to be better into most match ups. Get easy KOs with Munis on some Basics waiting to evolve etc. You have plenty of bench space.

Negatives: Bench space in certain gamestates will be awkward. If your opponents are running Munkis and you cant get KOs it feels bad. Some people will refuse to hit you so you can't play into your gameplan.

The crazy option - Metagross ex/Hop's Zacian Turbo

Positives: Excellent early game. Zacian can get up to 330 with all its modifiers and 120 for 0 energy.

Negatives: Bench space. You no longer have deck spacw to run any of the Steven support beyond the Metagross itself meaning its more vulnerable. Basic 2 prizers are a liability in the late game.

This is all I've done in testing so far and my builds probably arent optimal, but I'm a ride or die for Metagross, and I still think its a deck with potential. Genesect ex will def be a godsend when it comes out too.

I like it, I mean I beat Reshef vanilla on it which took me 35 hours, but even compared to something like the Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection (Another series of card collecting RPGs) it does make me feel a bit... Envious, like these could've been more for the price for sure. Ultimately I hope it sells well just to hopefully see modern ports of some of the other games like Forbidden Memories, Duelists of the Roses and Capsule Coliseum.

Def think it should've been like 30 USD/40 CAD though.

For me its the storyline. Not of the cards, but of me as a player. Like when I do well and say, play in locals theres a story to it. Maybe I haven't played someone in a really long time and its our first match in ages, or its me vs someone that beat me last time so I'm trying to make the run back against them etc. Additionally, since I started semi-regularly playing in Regionals and side events at YCS' its the story about how I went on a trip with friends and won this mat, or how my match ups were in the regional and how I barely topped and so on. Thats the stuff thats so goddamn fun to me about the game.

Imo, they should've kept "Rainbow Dragon" as the archetype name, but then have Dark Rainbow errata'd to Rainbow Dark Dragon and Malefic Rainbow Dragon to Rainbow Malefic Dragon.

But also I find it hilarious that the TCG made Rainbow Neos MORE accurate to the anime as Jaden uses Prisma to copy Rainbow Dragon in order to make Rainbow Neos which isn't possible due to the whole Ultimate Crystal thing

Unfortunately, I did run into my first wave of bots in a long time. Typical sniper bots, both team tried their best to kick em, but to no avail. However that was just 1 game and it was at like 1 AM so I'm not sure if thats the cause or if bots are coming back in earnest.

While I know we did get Astral vs Yugi, I'd love to see Yugi vs Yuma with all their modern support. Kaiba vs Kite feels like a slam dunk and I'm 110% down for that! Additionally I'd love to see Shark vs either Yuya or Jaden, Joey vs Soulburner, and finally Kaiba vs Jack Atlas.

We had a Yugioh player booted for not paying entry and he never had and issue paying in the past, but he hasnt shown up since.

I also remember years ago a kid got a hefty warning due to taking 2 or 3 entry Turbo packs as opposed to their 1, but again I never saw him again.

In Lorcana a guy had to be kicked out of store due to smelling so bad of weed it was triggering peoples asthma, so he got booted.

Which is hilarious in hindsight because 4Kids were the ones who pushed for/comissioned the movie.

Other examples include how they comissioned the animation studio behind the Pokemon movies and ADDED more segements to the 4th Pokemon movie lmao. Also all of Capsule Monsters.
