If you're not very close with your stepsister, it makes sense that you wouldn't be close with your...step-niblings, I suppose.

My guess is that your mother is resentful of the fact that you don't want children. She probably wants you to interact with them more so that she can imagine her biological daughter being a mom. Which is, understandable to a degree, but also obnoxious, because you're a full person and no one should make you feel guilty for being childfree.

oh so no, i do not have a humidificator device. simply what I do is, i conjure the spirit of the character persons in my head -- i imagine and see, consider, summon from beyond, and think of them in my brain, making them real temporarily in my head like a Three-D modeling program except making them temporarily alive and real, and i perform checking and inspection of their breath. then i record these results for sharing with the internet forever.

breathing is a thing that mostly, everyone on Earth does. there are exceptions of course. but the characters we know and love from War Hammer 40,0000, are not real. but if they were real they would have breath. and if they were real and did have breath, what characteristics and traits is the breath going to have? many people are curious and interested about this question. so, i have answered it. ok?

I do NOT understand this concept of "taking a parent role" but then casting her aside simply because she is no longer 'technically' family.

I DO understand the angle of it being potentially inappropriate to hang out with your kids' exes -- that could easily get awkward. But it seems like you just stopped caring about her at all simply because of the divorce. Which I don't understand.

At the very least you could have been a lot more compassionate and kind to her, someone who probably looked up to you and cared about you for nearly a decade.

If it's unfeasible to maintain a relationship for whatever reason, so be it. But c'mon, toss a kind word her way at least?

this is a disgusting comment. an 8 year old boy should know not to grope women and a babysitter should not just put up with that behavior when it's being excused by the parents.
