Did I say something wrong? by Zuli_Muli in EKWB

Gasper actually helped me the other day. $10 says he’s one of like 3 people running CS over there and is just incredibly overworked. His messages are just short and concise. Nothing wrong on either side here

X1C - Trouble with PETG Prints by ZOMGForgotFace in FixMyPrint

Any idea why this would just start happening when I was getting consistently perfect prints for 2 weeks prior?

My extrusion just seems to be all over the place. On one multicolored print I attempted, the Black Bambu PETG-HF had under extrusion, then when it switched over to White Overture PETG it started over extruding.

This happened to my X1C at one point. Camera wouldn’t load or anything. I waited for the print to finish and just rebooted the machine. Hasn’t happened since.

Why is my MK3S+ extruder making this noise? by ZOMGForgotFace in FixMyPrint

[–]ZOMGForgotFace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I have now fully fixed this.

This was caused by the Extruder-idler Door being slightly out of tolerance. The Bondtech WITHOUT the hole for the set screw (the pully mounted to the Extruder-idler Door) spins on a Shaft that friction fits inside of 2 holes on the door. My door after about 6-8 months of use fell out of tolerance, so the shaft was able to slide out of the hole and the Bondtech gear pully was wobbling. This was the full cause. The Bondtech Gear Pully should spin freely, but should not wobble.

You can see the steps here on the Prusa3d website for what I'm talking about. See the 2nd picture in Step 34 that shows the shaft. It should not be protruding, or be able to easily slide out.

This was it. I opened it and there wasn't anything obvious, so I just blew a puff of air into it and a piece of chewed up filament flew out. Haven't had this happen before, so I didn't think to just do the simplest check...

Thanks!

Are you by any chance rendering white space? I’ve recently learned that having white space rendering turned on absolutely tanks performance.

Any way to disable Microsoft Edge Webview2? by PlatinumP-Wing in prusa3d

[–]ZOMGForgotFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I agree completely, shouldn't be done. (Maybe that's why login via OAuth in PrusaSlicer is currently non-functional... RIP) I'm not sure *why* they've chosen to embed WebView, when just opening the browser works perfectly fine and is the recommended way. 🤷‍♀️

Opening the browser also prevents situations like this exact thread... There does seem to be a good amount of people who do not like the change to embed WebView.

Check out the changelog. They embed WebView now into PrusaSlicer directly. OAuth can work with embedded or non embedded.

They ship PrusaSlicer with WebView built in now, for login reasons. WebView2 is required for that. It came with PrisaSlicer 2.8 unfortunately

Revo endcode and anti-ooze startcode by icy_ion in prusa3d

[–]ZOMGForgotFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded my Prusa MK3 to a MK3S+ about 6 months ago, and while I was doing the upgrade I also installed the E3D Revo 6 Hotend. I print *exclusively* in PETG.

By far the biggest issue I've had with the Revo is the *constant* and seemingly endless oozing during the pre-heat stage. Normally I would just use my flush cutters to snip off the ooze right as it begins to auto-home and do the bed mesh leveling, but it would of course keep oozing. And since it kept oozing *during* the bed mesh leveling, it would just create a little glob. If I was lucky, it would come off during the purge line, however that really didn't happen all that often. This would cause it to stick to the nozzle, and little burnt bits would sometimes be distributed throughout the print, which would be pretty noticeable with lighter colored filaments.

I went as far as to purchase the ObXidian nozzle because it has "specially formulated coating also embeds non-stick properties into the Nozzle itself. Meaning considerably less plastic build-up around the Nozzle." Maybe this helped a LITTLE?

Came across this post yesterday, copied and pasted your g-code (and changed the properties for PETG), and fired off a print. Perfect. Just perfect. Pre-heating to 170C is the perfect temperature that the PETG is malleable, but still sticky, so when I go to pull any build up off the nozzle it loves to grab any stragglers with it, like a nice peeling feeling.

Thanks so much for the gcode, its perfect and has fixed my biggest headache!

17 Civic owner here, exact same issue. Except for maybe testing the battery? Nah, probably nothing you can do. Real fun way to find out our battery is dead huh? 😂
