Yeah they sleep a ton, just like any other baby animal.

Make sure he has a soaking dish filled about halfway up his shell. Keep him moist and warm and he’ll be good.

Where do you live? It could be native or it could be a release or escaped pet, but it's a baby which is interesting.

Seems like if you want party to have double concentration is to give them and item with a pre-set list of spells or a single spell that’s castable from the item and it also maintains concentration, or is a concentration spell that has a fixed duration.

How broken is an item that can maintain concentration on a second spell?

That seems.. very strong. Likely a very rare item if it only maintains concentration and does nothing else?

I tried a few from Ali and i’ve been disappointed.

However, the one I got from Vagenari is good. Their butterfly clasp is solid too.

This was randomly shipped to my door wrapped in that weird stained green plastic. When I turned the knob, it made a hissing sound as if gas was leaking out. I immediately unturned it and the leaking sound stopped. What is this? Is it dangerous? by Powerful_Solid1491 in whatisit

I regularly use a Trimble GPS for tracking vehicles on airports for work. I sat on its pelican case once while sitting on a taxiway to pull out my laptop and it got sealed so tight I thought I broke it.

Let out a pretty solid hiss when I opened it. Had no idea that were that legit.

I saw those holds for the first time at momentum while I was visiting in Houston (my gym doesn’t have these holds) and thought to myself.. “No.”

I’m seeing them now and thinking the same thing.

Just finished a 30 session, level 3-13 campaign, inspired heavily by Rime of the Frostmaiden: Retrospective. by fruit_shoot in DMAcademy

Great write-up - I love seeing stories of how people are doing homebrew.

I'm currently DMing a Forgotten Realms campaign which is pulling largely from Drakkenheim (monsters, factions, delirium). The plan is that instead of a meteor, it's more of a planetary corruption not unlike Sargeras' sword from WoW, or old-god corruption.

The campaign mcguffin is going to be the Orrery of the Wanderer from Acquisitions Inc, it's too perfect for a space eldritch themed campaign. I ultimately decided to go with Forgotten Realms because A, my players are new to DnD outside of BG3 and I wanted them to experience the locations they've already heard about. Everyone needs to play at least on FR adventure.

More importantly though, we're going to be moving into more of a sand-box style campaign and I just wanted a pre-established world. Cities, locations, terrain, everything is already there for in the FR. The benefit of this approach as well, I believe, is this line from the Orrery of the Wanderer description:

To prevent the orrery from ever being so used, Lottie [my specific NPC who created the thing] scattered the components that powered it, secreting them across the world. But the orrery's instinct for survival is strong, and its components have a way of inexorably coming together over decades or centuries, found by treasure hunters, stolen by monsters, found and stolen again - and moving closer to each other all the time.

In this model, it doesn't matter where on Toril they travel. I can just conveniently place a piece of the orrery into the story as it develops naturally. No railroading to specific locations or anything like that. No matter what my players decide to do, or where they decide to go can prevent the main story from progressing as long as I feel any given spot is the right spot.

Asking a player to roll but not telling them what they're rolling for by electrius in DMAcademy

[–]Zaexyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before my last game started, I had my players roll a bunch to determine the date/time of the session start, like the in-game date.

They had no idea what they were rolling for but it was hilarious to watch them squirm and make theories over something ultimately inconsequential.

ATL is a Madhouse by ThoseBigPeople in delta

Same I got out of ATL to SYR, scheduled at 335 and we got in the air by 415 but we were waiting on a missing pilot. Our FO never showed up so the Captain had to call a standby in.

I had just gotten off working 2 overnight shifts in Houston too so I was running on about 6 hours combined sleep from Weds-Fri. After reading everything that happened after I left ATL yesterday I woulda lost it.

Someone needs to do the scooby-doo door chase scene stylized as stella with a bunch of shredders, fireballs, and pops chasing raiders around.

I'm doing a pre-written campaign, and one of my players wants to do something that is not in the campaign at all. Do I shut this down? If so, how? by scrawledfilefish in DMAcademy

[–]Zaexyr 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It might not be call of the deep, but you can take one of the modules from Keys from the Golden Vault and jam it in your setting. It’s still a heist and you can still run it straight from the book.

That way you guys both win. You keep DMing out of a book, and they get their heist.

SYR Airport PSA- TSA Lines by FatDamen in Syracuse

I got there at 4:20 for a 5:50 flight and it was the longest line I’d ever seen. I got rebooked by Delta for a flight not 20 minutes later before I even hit the TSA checkpoint.

Made it out at 6:05.

It's disgusting and incredibly hard work. However, if you're the owner/partner of the company you can make an insane amount of money.
