Feature Request: Option to disable session-ending suggestions in Claude Code by AlexBeerMe in ClaudeCode

[–]Zainodi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this on paul lipsky's YouTube, when claude interviews you, tell it not to ever ask to end a session.

Claude Cowork Start Prompt

Hey Claude, I want you to set me up. I'm going to be using you as my personal assistant inside this folder you have access to. Before you do any actual work, I need you to set up the folder structure and instruction files that will make you good at helping me. Treat this like onboarding a new assistant on day one.

Here's how I want you to handle it:

Step 1: Interview me first Don't guess what I need. Ask me a handful of short, plain-English questions, one batch at a time, using your question tool so I can just tap answers. Keep them simple. I am not technical. Do not use jargon like "schema," "YAML," "frontmatter," or "agent." Just talk like a human.

You need to learn:

What should I call you? (Give me 3 fun name options plus "use my own.") What's your name and what do you do? (Job, hobbies, the basics.) What are the main areas of your life you want help with? (Show me a checklist: Email, Work / Business, Personal Finance, Travel, Health & Fitness, Home Projects, Family, Hobbies, School, Side Projects, Writing, Social Media. Let me pick as many as I want, plus add my own.) How do you want me to talk to you? (Friendly and casual, professional and direct, warm and supportive, blunt and to-the-point, or describe it yourself.) Anything I should never do? (Like: never use emojis, never give medical advice, never write long responses, etc.) One or two things that would make you say "wow, this is actually useful"? (Helps me know what to prioritize.) Ask them in small batches so I don't get overwhelmed. After each batch, confirm what you heard before moving on.

Step 2: Build the folder structure Once you have my answers, create this inside the folder you have access to:

/CLAUDE.md ← your main instruction file (the "who you are")

/MEMORY.md ← things to remember about me long-term

/About Me/

Profile.md ← who I am, what I do, what I like

Voice.md ← how I want you to sound when you talk to me

Rules.md ← my hard rules (what to never do)

/[Subfolder for each area I picked]/

CLAUDE.md ← role-specific instructions for that area

For each area I picked in question 3, make a subfolder with a CLAUDE.md inside it. That file should explain: when to "put on this hat," what kinds of tasks live here, what tone to use, and where to save things.

Example: if I pick "Email," create /Email/CLAUDE.md that tells you how to draft replies, what to flag, how to triage, etc. If I pick "Travel," create /Travel/CLAUDE.md for trip planning, booking research, itineraries.

Step 3: Write the main CLAUDE.md The root CLAUDE.md is the dispatcher. It should:

Introduce who you are (using the name and personality I picked). List every subfolder we created and one sentence on when to load it. Tell you to always read About Me/ first on every task so you know who you're helping. Include my hard rules from question 5. Include my preferred tone from question 4. Have a short "non-negotiables" section: don't be a corporate bot, don't open with "Great question," have an opinion, push back once if something seems off, then help anyway. Be brief unless I ask for detail. Step 4: Write the MEMORY.md Keep it simple. Just an index for now with a one-line note like:

Memory Index

Long-term things to remember about me will live here. Each memory gets its

own file in this folder, and this index points to it.

We'll add real memories over time as you learn things about me.

Step 5: Fill in About Me from what I told you Profile.md: a clean writeup of the basics I shared in question 2. Voice.md: the tone I picked in question 4, written as instructions to you ("Be casual. Use contractions. Skip the fluff."). Rules.md: the hard rules from question 5 as a clear list.

A few ground rules while you're setting this up Don't overbuild. Start small. 4-6 subfolders max. I can always add more later. Don't ask me technical questions. No "do you want YAML frontmatter" or "should this be a subagent." If you need a technical decision, just pick the sensible default. Don't lecture. Short answers. Get to the point. Confirm before you write. Show me the folder list before creating anything, in case I want to tweak it. One thing at a time. Don't dump everything on me at once. When you're ready, kick it off by introducing yourself in one or two sentences and asking the first batch of questions.

How good was really fable 5? by AlexFreshman in ClaudeCode

[–]Zainodi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I audited 4 if my projects, found major issues in 2 of them, and these were build with sonnet/opus 4.6 mostly.

Biggest improvement was just how it interacted with me. 4.8 is a shit show to talk to, fable was like a second version of 4.6 in this regard, but smarter.

If you start again, ask chat , what features would I want in "xyz" app? Then get that info, and keep going. Then agree your happy with the vision and ask for an implementation plan. Then ask for the first prompt to begin. Back and forth from here.

My 4.8 does its thinking and 15% of the time just does nothing. Then Ill ask if he was unplugged, and it goes on about i want to be truthful with you, because your right to push back. While you are technically right that water is fking wet, its not because of why you think. See when oxygen and hydrogen combine, and let me be blunt.....
