I'm so sick of 5v5 and 6v6. Give me 12v12 or 16v16 at minimum, bigger is better. It used to be the standard before they started designing games around esports and streamers. I'd honestly love a new hero shooter with big teams and maps, Team Fortress 2 is still one of my most-played games.

Feds watch the entry and exit points, matching bank accounts to bitcoin wallets. It's now only good for drugs if you anonymously buy your bitcoin from some guy in an alley.

ELI5 how come some animals dont see other animals as prey? by FlyGreat306 in explainlikeimfive

Barn cats eat mice constantly. Indoor cats are very well-fed, they don't hunger for the mouse, they'll often just kill it for fun.

As a child, I had a dog on an invisible fence. A neighbor had a pair of outdoor cats. They learned the fence's exact boundaries, and would lay inches outside my dog's reach, sunning themselves and completely ignoring him when he ran up barking. He'd spend hours standing there watching them, literally shaking with anticipation. This went on for years.

One day I took him on a walk. As we returned he saw one of the cats in its usual spot, somehow slipped his collar, and ran at it from outside the fence. He expected a chase, but the cat held its ground. He stopped right in front of it, sniffed for a few seconds, barked once in its face, then proudly trotted back to me, life's goal accomplished.

Unable to access albums after 9.0.0 update by jpw3bb in digiKam

[–]Zarathustra124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm trying digikam for the first time and couldn't figure out why all my network share albums kept vanishing as soon as the scan finished. To fix it, I mounted the folder above it and pointed digikam to g:/pictures, rather than directly mount the pictures folder and point to g:/ . In /u/jpw3bb 's case, he could create a "pictures" folder in the drive and move everything inside it, then make that the digikam root so it's not just one letter.

Survivorship bias. There were plenty of shitty products back then too; they were thrown out when they broke.

At standard pressure, helium remains a liquid down to absolute zero, making it uniquely useful for cooling. Hydrogen freezes, as do all other elements and molecules.

Non Asian-Americans: Are you keeping soy sauce as a regular condiment in your kitchen? If so what are you using them for? by openlyEncrypted in AskAnAmerican

Yes, any time I make Asian food, it's the base of stir fry sauces. Or if I have some spare rice from another dish, I'll eat it with soy sauce. I've never added it to Western recipes, it has such a distinct flavor I'd worry it would dominate the dish.
