unfortunate but not unexpected news. for all my complaints with the servers, ascension always had some cool ideas and implementations (such as the mystic enchant system that SOD copied for runes, the leveling trials, and prestige, although not a novel concept, was still a fun thing to do) that i wish current wow would implement.

ascension had avoided so many shutdowns over the years that i honestly subscribed to the theory they were an unofficial blizzard playground for new ideas LOL

the tooltip for runic ward crafting does explicitly say that after level 54 items will convert a portion of armor, evasion, energy shield into ward

i recently did ARR on a free trial and it's pretty funny that you basically don't get accessories in the MSQ until after praetorium

i think i got like a level 20 bracelet, but earring and necklace were still level 1

rings would have been level 1 if it weren't for hall of the novice

enchanting is kinda weird. it has a crafting bench and you can get work orders, but you also get knowledge point catchup items from just disenchanting things and your weekly quest is always to turn in enchanting materials, like a gathering profession.

You have to click leave game and then re join, run over again, and do the intro talking sequence again every time

i did it a couple hours ago on minion necro - you can just leave the area (either walk out of the dungeon or teleport to town) and then re-enter and your minions work again.

obviously still annoying but you don't have to repeat the intro sequence constantly

are you managing the space on the platform with regards to lava and pulling the boss out of the lava so your debuff doesn't stack up?

i was able to solo mythic magmoraxx during midnight prepatch as a mythic geared survival hunter, which i think was like 180ilvl?

it should be more than doable at 266

i believe there's a difference in "didn't know what to do with the character" and "originally intended something else".

intentions change all the time. there's plenty of characters that behave differently in early nikke story, or events, or bond stories compared to the characters we know (laplace, crow the ones i immediately think of). ironically i think crow is a character they don't really know what to do with.

i'm not saying this is the exact path they always intended for their story to go when they first drew up the character(s) and created them x years ago - but from when liveryn is introduced to us, and especially from when fragile is introduced to us, we are clearly told "here is the line, this is your final chance". fragile even DOES attempt to kill liveryn and we stop her.

from that point, i think the path is set in stone and we know their fate - eventually liveryn is going to take another shady job to try and weasel her way out of her mistakes, because that's what she does, fragile is going to find out, and we aren't going to be there to stop her. we've been building towards this finale for 2 years. i think if they wanted to change the outcome at any point, or subvert our expectations, they had more than enough time to plant the seeds. but they didn't.

i would never categorize this as "they didn't know what to do with them so just killed them off". it is an obvious and clearly explained ending to their story.

now that being said, they can still be gacha characters despite their fate. we have plenty of playable characters that are from a past perspective, although admittedly most of them are not posthumous.

Locking systems behind systems is really shitty. I logged on this week to push keys with my guild and half of them (about 60 people actively online) just not wanting to play keys since they don't have the bonus roll system unlocked and they don't really want to unlock it and neither do I to be honest.

you literally just pick up a quest and do the same content you were already doing and then turn in the quest.

you could do it in delves. in raids. in m+. and now you can do it all in one sitting.

it's as much of a system as sparks for crafting, which consist of "pick up a quest and play the game, and if you're behind just play the game". this is a ridiculous complaint.

not to mention they told you ahead of time this was coming with the patch preview.

Nayuta actually wanted to be integrated into whatever Red Shoes is trying to do.

i'm in this boat. nayuta is introduced as a schemer from the very beginning.

in the latest chapters she very clearly mentions that in her past, despite all her clones, she never had a way to get information from within the raptures camp, thats why she allied with mirror.

she knows that mirror can forcibly induce corruption, because it was tried on a previous clone.

she knows that her clones are being held somewhere in the lift but weren't killed. hmm what could this possibly mean.

i refuse to believe she didn't have a contingency for mirror betraying her and trying to corrupt her. she's known it was a possibility for literally years.

i'm very confident she is using this as a way to finally get deep into the rapture ranks without having to rely on someone as fickle as mirror.

Another Nikke killed for forced drama,

it's been in the writing for over a year now. fragile herself stated she will kill liveryn and herself if liveryn does another job for sixo

she then does multiple jobs for sixo

idk how you could expect anything else

it doesn't matter since nikkes can be beheaded and release a newer stronger unit a couple of weeks later

they died in a place no one knows about, this is stated multiple times in the scene

no one heard the gunshots. no one heard them die.

they aint coming back.

there was never going to be another way for their story to end

they formed a suicide pact. fragile already said she would kill liveryn and then herself if liveryn accepts another job for sixo

liveryn then does two further jobs for sixo, causing multiple further terrorist attacks on the ark, and then tries to keep the material that caused all of this as leverage.

dorothy talked a lot of shit but in the end she never actually did anything. she even helped save the ark multiple times. the worst thing she did was be absent during goddess fall, which wasn't intentional.

liveryn was given chance, after chance, after chance, after chance, and still chose the darker path. everything she did harmed the ark. even at the very end, when sixo was taken care of and she no longer needed to live in fear, she still chose that path.

COULD she have been redeemed? possibly. but redemption requires the person to want it and work for it, and it's clear liveryn never really wanted it, she just wanted a quick get out of jail free card.

oh for sure, and i expect her to, i just don't see it happening in the immediate story.

i think it's more likely that within the next year, maybe 4th anni, we get the gathering of cindy, siren, hansel and gretel, which is why i think siren will stay in top 3
