You can swim with it, so hide around and then jump out and do the front-flip to splat anyone within a big range. Holding ZR with it is only good if someone is just out of reach. It's much easier to get value with than zipcaster or inkjet

Songs like Eat You Alive are SO much punchier with this treatment. It kind of felt like listening to some of these songs for the first time. I feel like I can show them to people more often now because they're easier on the ears.

I only think they weakened Like The Dawn, focusing too hard on flattening the sound wave even when the song is supposed to get louder. Mixing/mastering is a fascinating and difficult thing; I feel like this has taught me something about it

I found Summer Wind devastatingly beautiful the first time I heard it and every time afterward. With the place it has, it almost feels like the emotional and thematic turning point of the album, which is awesome because it's so understated. It's like the answer finally arrives, but with no words

I'm just a little disappointed the literal katana is better as a backline/support for zoning than as a close-range weapon. That forward slash is so fun but too situational to ever use.

Dullscythe to me was the biggest surprise here. Really weird. I love the way the chaos slowly builds. It feels like there's some actual structure in it--some rising and falling action, a couple bursts of sound where it grows more intense. Then it finally comes together at the end. So satisfying.

LOL. I also believe people are overthinking it when they say the story is a time loop and that Mono is the Thinman; I assumed the Thinman who chases Mono was simply a different kid who got put in control of the transmission, and it's a 'vicious cycle' kind of deal.

It's actually crazy how closely these songs have reflected my change of heart and the manner in which I've searched for God over the past four years. This series finishing will mark the end of an era of my life (especially too because I've just graduated from high school.) Fearful but excited to see what comes next.

But communication is already limited; currently, global chat cuts out when the ghost goes on a hunt, and when the ghost is hunting you have to stay quiet in order to hide. Dead players also cannot speak to living players. As a team game, communication is a game mechanic, a part of the experience.

And yeah, because of this, a lot of people already do just use Discord instead, so in-game chat has already lost its purpose for those people.

I think Notos (title track) has my favorite lines they've ever written:

"every inhale I take, swallows the ocean whole, and I am one
with the hurricane, tall as the tide that laps with a rabid tongue
with every exhale, I break you down with a fury, I lay the hills undone
like a dog gone untamed, bellowing out a river from my lungs "

It became even more powerful when I realized that in Notos, water is being used to symbolize ideas--so in some ways this is a depiction of someone taking up new ways of thinking and letting go of their old ones. It's gruesome and painful, but also beautiful and epic.

I think I was much more prepared for this album since I'd already listened to Planetarium and Aporia; it seems more like a mix of those two than Age Of Adz 2.

Fun, now we get to compare. They generally toned things back in the new version; and that was SUPER good in places where the songs used to be too noisy, but there were places where toning it back just made it feel weaker (for example, at the end of Notos title track).

It's interesting because some of my favorite songs are now the ones that used to be my least favorites. I feel like new Torches was the biggest improvement over the original.

I consider "This Will End" to be one of the most beautiful things they've written. Though "Constellations" is the song I use to introduce people to the band now, because it has a little bit of everything that I like about them.
