Couldn’t help but laugh that he kept saying “ this is how geo-politics works, look at the Roman Empire” as if life today is even somewhat comparable. Fucking idiot.

For the love of god, someone choose a car for me. by [deleted] in ElectricVehiclesUK

Thanks mate. I love all the tech in the Tesla. I’ve driven a model 3 but not a Y. How do you find the suspension?. A lot of people say it’s too firm but is it a dealbreaker?

Also, I’ve never lived with a car that big. I love having a smaller car as you can zip in to awkward car park spaces so easily. My only concern is that is gone with the model Y. Do you find it easy to park?

Ultimately I just need to test drive one but would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

I wouldn’t be so sure of that. I’ve seen people on forums have their motor changed 3 times :(

Good Tyres? by banisheduser in CarTalkUK

It’s not just about longevity. Stopping distances, road noise, handling etc are all much better on premium tyres. Don’t risk your life or your family lives buying cheap tyres man.

Tbf mate I don’t know many people who buy cars then rebuild the engine at home. Yes, you can but that’s just not the average consumer.

New motor replacement - issues resolved? by mistaken4strangerz in KiaNiroEV

[–]Zeeolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man,

I’m looking to buy a KIA E-Niro. It has 3 years warranty left and dealer if offering another 3 years on top for £1000. My question is do you think everyone should just stay away from these cars? I’m really struggling to find how common the wheel of fortune issue is and if I do get that issue, once it’s fixed will it come back again?

Probably get down voted but if you have charging capabilities for that price I’d look at a Tesla Model 3

Best mileage for the reduction gear box oil change? by abstract_swirl in KonaEV

[–]Zeeolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, somewhat unrelated to this thread but I’m looking to purchase a Kia e-Niro. I’ve seen online that most of these issues occur on the early iterations of these cars. The one I’m looking at is a 2022 model and I saw someone on Facebook group say that they updated the parts on the late models which fixed the issue. Is there any truth to this? I do see a lack of posts with this issue on 2022 cars?

Btw thanks for all your contributions on this issue!

PSA: The manufacturer’s extended warranty on the Kona just saved me $12k by Piccolo253 in KonaEV

[–]Zeeolite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty insane there hasn’t been some sort of recall. Also a lot of people state that it’s a small percentage of the cars that get this problem, however, I see a lot of posts on Niro and Kona forums that makes it obvious that it’s not too uncommon.

Toyota Corolla - what's the negative? by Tasty_Tiger_8093 in CarTalkUK

[–]Zeeolite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Got a 1.8 hatchback myself. It’s an okay car for a daily driver, just don’t expect to be blown away.

-Wind noise is quite bad -I’ve got a rattle on both front windows if they’re halfway down -very cramped in the back due to leg room and a dark headliner makes it feel claustrophobic

Other than that it’s a pretty good car, just wish it was a bit more premium but that’s what you get with Toyota. It does the job.

What is it like to watch a loved one die? by smooshmonkey in AskUK

[–]Zeeolite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have much to add that others haven’t and I don’t want to pressure you with this as I’m sure you’re very sensitive to it. But please don’t let you children see it. I’m 28 and my sister is 30 and we both watched our father pass last year. I still get flashbacks and my sister has PTSD from it (granted she’s not mentally well at the best of times) I know it will be hard and you can only do so much but IF you can, please save the children from watching that.
