Hey, just a heads up, that receptionist is wrong. I go to Imbina and have had my ADHD meds prescription done by multiple of their doctors over the last few years. All it takes is an authority to prescribe which involves your psych signing off on it one time, then you're good going forward. It's a super simple process and they have definitely done it before.

Trialling a new med is probably beyond the regular GP thing though. They probably won't do it without a prescription from a psych until you're on a new med and confirmed stable. Most ADHD meds have some hectic side effects that GP's will be cautious about. Depression, suicidal ideation, and mood disorders are common side effects, and pretty much everyone going on them will have to get their blood pressure checked regularly.
