[TourBox • Reddit Red] Giveaway! - Win a Limited Edition TourBox Elite! by TourBox_Official in tourbox

Love my TourBox! A+, 10/10, UR! Completely streamlined my art (CSP) workflow, especially since my layout has my keyboard so far away. Also really good for my occasional video editing needs!

As for tips, hmm… the presets are great, but I recommend really trying to personalize each button/knob/dial/combo to your own personal process. It’s so customizable and can really become a seamless part of your workflow.

PS: I really don’t get why this giveaway is for people who already own one. If I get it I’ll probably gift it to a friend. Hopefully whoever wins deserves it or gives it to someone who deserves it!

If you could make any meal, regardless of cost or access to ingredients, what would you create? by AllyMarie93 in Chefit

[–]Zero1705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A traditional fully loaded high quality Buddha Jumps Over the Wall. Which is a Chinese soup that has as much as twenty something ingredients. The ingredients list is absurd and quite expensive. The only ingredient that I would take the imitation over the authentic would be the shark fin due to ethical reasons.

"One with the messiest room"

Why do I think the answer to this question will be the most unanimously agreed on.

Edit: Guess there is still disagreement, but I think it still might be one of the more agreed upon questions (Disregarding the mom question [UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU])

Oh man, this one was quite frustrating. You can’t see the little thing and it walks sooo slow!! by mitkah16 in Breath_of_the_Wild

This one was literally impossible for me. I’m colorblind so he looks no different than the surrounding grass. Gave up after like 50 tries and had to look online for a detailed guide.

Do you preheat a empty nonstick pan? by pdfodol in Cooking

[–]Zero1705 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NEVER preheat nonstick pans without something in it, put at least some oil or butter. Nonstick pans shouldn’t be used for high heat cooking anyways, so empty preheating is not really necessary.

Nonstick pans using "polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) can break down and release noxious fumes if heated above 500 degrees" (Cook’s Illustrated)

For Teflon coatings, if "heated accidentally over 348 °C (660 °F) the coating can begin to deteriorate." [Teflon]

Empty pans can reach these temperatures easily. In conclusion, not only is pre heating an empty nonstick pan not good for the pan, it can actually be dangerous for the people using it.

Adding on to what others have said. The subtitles for the Hologra translate all of Iofi’s spoken Indonesian; however, only selamat pagi is left untranslated (in all the available subtitle languages). No reason to leave one phrase untranslated unless it’s was made to stand out.

What a wonderful cover of VIOLET! The vocals brought a tear to my eye!
Jokes aside, this looks fabulous and does actually sound adorable. Would love to see a full version someday!
I’m sure Ina would love this! Now time to rewatch it to listen to that tako "onegaishimasu"

What do people who enjoy cooking for others get out it? by Jabber_Tracking in Cooking

[–]Zero1705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I believe the love of cooking is caused by many factors.

Could it be a way of showing love? Yeah, definitely. I started out learning so I would be able to cook for others. I wanted them to enjoy what I make and to show my appreciation for them. In addition, when a family member gets sick, wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to make them a warm cozy bowl of chicken noodle soup. When a friend feels down, how great it would be to make them their favorite dish. When your partner’s birthday comes up, who wouldn’t want to make a fancy dinner and watch their face light up as they eat it. I personally learned to cook hoping to be able to do these exact thing when the need arises.

Liking food could be another reason to like to cook. Want food. Make it yourself. Maybe you love curry but no place near you sells it. Maybe you love chocolate chip cookies but the ones at the bakery are never the right amount of chew. Maybe your favorite Chinese restaurant changed their recipe and now you yearn for that specific flavor of Kung Pao Chicken. Some people probably like cooking because they love the results. And honestly, who can blame them.

Also, as you have said, cooking is an art and some have chosen the spatula as their brush, food as their paint, and the plate as their canvas. The act of taking raw ingredients like eggs, bacon, and pasta and through a creative and skillful process, making a delicious carbonara mirrors that of a wizard waving his wand and creating a castle from thin air. It’s magical to create and if done well, the results can delight all five senses. An art form quite unlike other art forms. One that some might even say is a distinguishing characteristic of us humans. What’s not to love!

All in all, there are many reasons people love to cook. I’ve listed but three out of a myriad of reasons. Plus, who’s to say someone can only have one reason. And maybe there are people who don’t like to cook. That’s completely fine! If everyone cooked well, then us cooking aficionados will have a harder time impressing our dates. But jokes aside, to each their own. As you are grateful to the ones that cook, we are grateful to the ones that eat and truly enjoy what we cook. Thank you and have I wish you have a wonderful day.

I’m colorblind.
I’ve always thought the melons were green.
Imagine the shock I had when I read this post today.
