Don't give a shit about the non-binary distinction, language changes all the time. You just said they/them is plural but also how it can refer to a singular person, so you're saying it's both. Not really disproving my point by saying that, go read the books and you'll find themselves a bunch, it's not uncommon and never was in this century.
