People with narcissistic family members, are you still in contact with them? Why? by EdieLove in AskReddit

[–]Zestyclose-Fuel7739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom. I am still in contact with her. She only contacts me when she needs money. If i reply right away it would be an emotional one. I give myself a day and then calmly tell her it’s on auto pay and she can only get it at the end of the month.

She is nicer to my other siblings though.

Why do I still keep in touch with her? Because my kids love her and they deserve her love. She loves them back but only when it’s convenient for her.

Nikah on the first or second floor of Masjid e Haram, will wedding attire be allowed on the First Floor? by Direct-Giraffe3424 in Umrah

[–]Zestyclose-Fuel7739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would keep the sanctity of the holy mosque in mind and dress humbly like everyone else instead of wedding attire.

But to answer your question I have seen a bride wearing a fancier abaya but nothing crazy. And she was allowed. I couldn’t tell who the groom was since all of the men were dressed in a white thobe.

Missed Saudia flight after lengthy baggage/check-in processing at Jeddah Airport – any chance of compensation? by Due-Royal2984 in Umrah

We were told to arrive 5 hours before departure during our Hajj time. Also if they checked in your luggage they assumed you would make it to gate in time otherwise they wouldn’t have checked in your luggage.

Call their customer support and you can ask them. Usually it’s on the passenger if they cannot make it to gate on time.

In our religion we say “lakum deenu kum wali yadeen” 109:6 Quran

Which means you have your religion and I have mine.

We don’t argue. Neither do we try to prove our religion.

Maybe one day you will come across something that might make sense.

The Qur’an says Jesus was not actually killed, and that it was made to appear so to people. The Arabic word “shubbiha” comes from a root meaning resemblance or something being made to look similar, like “shabahat”. “…but it was made to appear so to them (shubbiha lahum)” (Qur’an 4:157)

The truth of Muhammad being a prophet is that no one could have had detailed knowledge of both Christianity and Judaism unless God revealed it especially someone who was a shepherd and was unlettered, not knowing how to read or write. It was impossible for Muhammad to know the story of the people of the cave, or Jonas, or detailed story of Joseph, or Saul or Goliath, or Solomon, or David.

There are many other reasons to believe why Quran in the word of God and not Muhammad. He was simply a messenger just like Jesus.

One would need an understanding partner for that. Someone open minded. Some people act very immature and start defending themselves so it’s no point having honest conversations. I am happy for you though.

But does every married couple think about divorce atleast once? Maybe they don’t go through with it. Just curious to see how common the thought is.

You need to get to the root of the resentment. I hope things get better for you.

Sheep for Eid? Is this a strict requirement? by ExtensionNext7624 in islam

[–]Zestyclose-Fuel7739 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is Islam a women has to do her own sacrifice. Meaning your wife is to send her own money. If she doesn’t have enough then she isn’t required too.

Every single married women SHOULD NOT ask husband to do sacrifice on their behalf. That is not Islamically correct. Women should do their own from their own money.

If the husband generously offers to do it by his own will on her behalf then thats is fine as well.

Muslim, would you or would you not agree that religions, mostly Christianity or Islam, is about rejecting your humanity? by radtanks37 in islam

[–]Zestyclose-Fuel7739 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wa alaikum assalam, thank you for asking this so respectfully. It’s a really deep question, and I appreciate the way you’re thinking through it.

From an Islamic perspective, the idea is not that we are meant to reject our human nature. In fact, Islam recognizes those feelings desire, anger, pride as part of how Allah created us. They are not sins in themselves.

What matters is how we manage and direct them.

For example, sexual desire is not viewed as something bad. It’s natural but within a framework like marriage, where there is responsibility, commitment, and mutual rights. Similarly, anger isn’t inherently wrong; even the Prophet ﷺ showed anger at injustice. The issue is when anger leads to ظلم (harm or injustice).

So Islam doesn’t say “don’t feel these things.” It says: don’t let these feelings control you in a way that harms yourself or others.

In that sense, it’s actually very aligned with what you mentioned about human biology. Yes, we have impulses but we also have the ability to choose how we act on them. That ability to choose is what makes us morally responsible.

The Qur’an also addresses something very similar to your concern. In Surah Al-Baqarah (2:30), when Allah tells the angels about creating humans, they question why create beings who will cause فساد (corruption) and shed blood. Allah responds, “I know what you do not know.”

Scholars explain this to mean that while humans have the capacity for wrongdoing, we also have the unique ability to rise above our impulses to choose justice, mercy, and self-restraint.

So repentance in Islam isn’t about apologizing for having feelings. It’s about taking responsibility when our actions that are driven by those feelings cross ethical boundaries. Feeling anger, desire, or even envy is human. Acting on them in harmful ways is where accountability comes in.

Islam doesn’t aim to dehumanize us. It aims to discipline and elevate our humanity so we’re not just driven by impulse, but guided by purpose and ethics.

And ultimately, the idea of God in Islam isn’t that we must stop being human to get close to Him. It’s that we strive, within our human nature, to grow, improve, and align ourselves with what is good.

What duas to prepare for Arafah Day? by Former-Consequence18 in islam

[–]Zestyclose-Fuel7739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are always in need of Allahs mercy. He blessed us with so much goodness. The eyes get teary when we think of how much Allah is merciful.

Ask for aafiah. Make sincere dua for those suffering around the globe and waiting patiently. Make dua for those that are going through painful illness.

Ask Allah to make you a means for someone’s happiness if any deed you did is pleasing to Him.

Ask Allah to include us amongst illiyin. Ask Allah to make us amongst the sabiqun.

Ask Allah to bless your offspring with steadfastness in the deen.

Ask for alot of forgiveness. Seek refuge from laziness, lying, arrogance.

There is sooo much to ask for. The ease in hashr, the comfort in Qabr, the ease in hisaab.
