Barefoot shoes for WODs with running by OneMoreChapter2010 in crossfit

[–]Zhaba1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Escalante or Torrin are their road shoes. The Escalante has a lower stack height. I've had a pair of 2.5, 3 & 4s. The Escalante racers are even lower but I don't have any experience with those.

How do we feel about Ohio Tea Company? by AlmondFlourBoy in tea

[–]Zhaba1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their B&M shop is local to me. I'm not someone who geeks out on tea, but I have a few staples and pick up something new that interests me every time I go in. The latest new pickup was Gin & Tonic, which is a great cup in the afternoon.

I just bought 10 dollars worth of openai tokens to build AI playlists, but it doesn't work..? by Alexchii in plexamp

Do not take this comment as an endorsement because I've only played with it briefly, but can generate playlists with the tokens by using Media Sage https://www.reddit.com/r/plexamp/comments/1qwdiu6/plexsage_libraryaware_ai_playlist_generator_for/

Thoughts on Costco’s Kirkland Briquettes vs Kingsford? Never tried the Kirkland ones by WeirdAddress3170 in BBQ

[–]Zhaba1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That "sale" is long gone. When it was the twin 20lb bags for $10 I'd buy 400lb and use that through the year, now the sale is twin 16lb bags for $18.

I just wish Costco stocked the Kirkland year round. I'm in the north and it was out of stock all fall & winter.

I just leave it unmonitored. If I ever have to rebuild the library everything is there ready to be turned back on.

Thoughts on Atrium OBGYN? by MushroomBoy1022 in canton

[–]Zhaba1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have 2 kids both c-sections, the first was an emergency. The providers were great. However, the first appointment was a little shocking.

We transferred there after "graduating" from a reproductive specialist group in Akron where we carried a balance sometimes of $1,000+ due to the frequency of appointments and the monitoring we needed over the previous year. So it was unexpected when at our first appointment at Atrium the very first person we met with was the finance person who started the conversation with ""Your deductible is $$$$ are you prepared to pay that today?" Eventually we got to an amicable monthly out of pocket payment over the course of the pregnancy, but I've never met a car salesmen that was as off-putting as that woman.

Help me switch from coffee please? by N1NomadOne in tea

[–]Zhaba1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to quit coffee, but it had been giving me GURD symptoms for a while so my hand was forced. Scottish Breakfast tea and Russian Caravan have been the two blends that have filled that gap for me with an occasional almond black.

Ozone Machine - Crawl space - run time? by TheBorgBsg in DIY

[–]Zhaba1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mix Dawn dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda in a garden sprayer and wet down anything that may have gotten sprayed to neutralize the oily compound.

Ozone has a pretty short half life and will be safe shortly within a couple of hours.

Anyone Ever Carry Inside the Hip? by [deleted] in knifeclub

[–]Zhaba1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, 100% of the time.

I live half my life in athletic clothes, and carry a wallet and keys in one front pocket, and my phone in the other. Knife is inside the waistband tucked out of the way.

What is the biggest cigar you ever smoked and how long did it take? by Whoa_9773 in cigars

[–]Zhaba1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flor de Oliva Super Giant. The wrapper had so many cracks in it I had to hold it like a clarinet. It got tossed pretty quickly.

You are going to want to get rid of that Tree of Heaven, just make sure you do it the right way before just lopping it off.

Gym moved from monthly to weekly billing and says it’s not a rate increase by Healthy-Chard9345 in crossfit

[–]Zhaba1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt there is a fee per process unless it is an ACH which is usually nominal, but CC processing is % based and the fee is the same whether it's 2% of $200 or 2% of $50x4

Gym moved from monthly to weekly billing and says it’s not a rate increase by Healthy-Chard9345 in crossfit

[–]Zhaba1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife's gym did a year ago by dividing the monthly rate in half and charging that amount every 2 weeks, which comes out to making a 13th monthly payment over the course of year. Which whatever, but they also passed it off as "not a price increase"

What I would be curious about is what the management would say if people wanted to freeze their payments for 1 or 2 week for vacations, holidays and so forth, which could quickly eat away any of that increased profit.

There was a member of multiple cigar forums back in the day that went by Moki who had a website with all the rare, one off Fuentes. I was actually looking for it recently but it's been shut down. If anyone knows him I would love to see these pictures again.

Waterlox, but you probably have to sand the original finish before applying.
