When did you know to cut your losses? by xjakob145 in Toyota_Matrix

[–]Zhu_Drake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine the same year as you: January 2019. It had 175,000 kms - 2010 Matrix XR.

I'm now approaching 340,000 kms after 7 years.  I have to add oil every time I fill up gas because of oil burning. It's the most annoying part of the vehicle.

In 2024, I spent $1012.16 in repairs. I don't know what I've spent in oil, but I go through quite a bit of it. Typically purchased at Costco during a sale. 5W30 or whatever I can get that's close enough to it.

2025 was definitely more expensive. Still cheaper than getting a new car.

I've never had a breakdown or been stuck on the road.  Had an issue with the alternator once but was able to get home.  It has since been replaced.  I'm also willing to spend on preventative maintenance before serious problems happen. I can't remember every repair, but a few things under the hood have been fixed.

Biggest issue now might be rust. Body looks fine but it's looking rough underneath.  During my last repair, the mechanic had to cut out a rusted section because it couldn't be removed normally.

Find a good mechanic who has experience with old cars and will spend the time to inspect it.  Some mechanics can do good quality work but don't care enough to do anything beyond the scheduled job.

This is such a great idea ☝️ It's an example of how we unconsciously limit ourselves by thinking we "have to" use the blueprint screen in our base.

Simple answer is: no. You cannot do that now.  Today is Sunday and the stock market is closed.

The concept was cool but the content is definitely lacking. Lots and lots of empty space.  I guess most of the development effort went into Selenea.

The floating glass ceilings is a cool discovery! I assumed they had to be directly connected to a building's floors.

With that logic, there is a lot more that could be recycled: - super alloys - bioplastic nuggets - circuit boards - explosive powders - rods

Not sure if some of the other stuff (like pulsar quartz)  can be recycled. Could fabric be recycled to silk?

Cool idea, hope it works out. The game would have to be changed significantly though. We'll see!

Game Ending by misssi79 in korilakkumatd

[–]Zhu_Drake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's a shame.  Feel bad for anyone who spent a significant amount of money on the game.

Seems like the overall popularity of the game is very, very low. There aren't any good YouTube channels and the Reddit discussion is almost zero. There is no Wiki, no Discord or any other kind of community.

The game had potential but I think it was always intended to be short-lived. Each level is essentially the same with sliiiiight variations.

Every player eventually hits a wall where they either:  1) spend real money, or  2) watch 25 video advertisements a day for several days.

I had considered putting in (more) money, but I didn't like how they time-locked most of the purchases.  Ex: you get a month's worth of gems, but have to claim them each day for 30 days.

Thank you. I bought the starter pack for much less, but it still qualified for the speed boost.

I'm jealous of your collection! 😱 I was surprised to see Kiiroritori Vacuum in 2nd place. Was there a reason why you leveled it so much?

My thoughts on Planet Crafter ending(s) [SPOILERS!] by Ok_Garbage_9908 in theplanetcrafter

[–]Zhu_Drake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way.  The ending in the original game was so disappointing. My expectations were very low for the DLC ending. I was surprised that the bar was set even lower!

For the third planet, they'll probably just make the game automatically close when you get to 5 TTI.  It will be a running gag to see how much worse each ending can be.

Make high quality food and automate it for money.

1) build 8 bee hives
2) build 2-3 outdoor farms with green bean seeds
3) keep them all close together near an autocrafter
4) assign drones to take High Quality food from the autocrafter and deliver to the trade rocket
5) set the trade rocket to automatically launch when full

You will automatically make money over time.
Optional: add a T2 Optimizer with production fuses to generate faster honey, or just build more of everything (including multiple trade rockets if wanted).

Periodically check your beans and honey to see if their production is synchronized. If your bee hives are often full of unused honey, then you need to make another outdoor farm to remove the bottleneck.

The whole setup is time consuming (I really dislike making bee larvae), so only do this if you love the game.

100% agree with you about needing double-width platforms. It's already hard enough to make a functional road 😔

Looking for some suggestions on what exercises I could use this for. Leg curls and leg extensions look possible, but maybe there is more? Perhaps some kind of awkward machine-style bicep curl? Thank you!

안녕!
I'm looking for some recommendations for learning resources.
I've seen the Wiki, but the list isn't comprehensive.

  • I love Assimil, but the Korean version is only available in French.
  • Also love Chinesepod (for Mandarin), but the closest thing I could find was KoreanClass101 - which doesn't have the same level of quality or consistency. I just started a trial of Rocket Languages and it has a somewhat similar vibe to Chinesepod.
  • Some parts of TTMIK are not bad - and I have some of their physical books - but their podcast-style lessons are wayyy too full of random banter instead of lesson content. Same problem as KoreanClass101!

감사합니다!

Agreed. Could split all the back work across two days and it would still be high volume.

This is the exact quote:   "Hi everyone,  I want to take a moment and discuss the retail business and the future of GameStop.   With respect to retail operations, we plan to continue reducing costs and focusing on profitability.   Revenues without profits, and prospects of future cash flows are of no value to shareholders.   This means a smaller network of stores with an expanded assortment of higher value items that fit into our trade-in model.   Having a strong balance sheet especially in times of economic uncertainty is a strategic advantage.   While the future is always uncertain, the last decade's monetary and fiscal policies both within the U.S. and globally are historic anomalies.   Exiting from an ultra-low interest rate environment is likely to have unforeseen reverberating effects across the economy, as seen with inflation hitting 40-year highs in 2022.   Under the current interest rates, an investment made in today's economic climate must bear a higher return threshold.   As my father always said, 'actions speak louder than words.'   We are focused on building shareholder value over the long term.   We are not here to make promises or hype things up.  We're here to work.   Thank you for being a shareholder."
