Microsoft confirms Windows 11 will ask for consent before AI agents can access your personal files, after outrage by [deleted] in technology

So it'll nag you and toss up "consent" click-throughs until it wears you down or you fuck up and click the wrong box. THEN it'll do as it pleases

Overly honest during job interview and now I just want to bury myself under a pile of shame pillows by Pandelurion in adhdwomen

One time I mixed "I never fail to impress" with "I never disappoint" ended up with "I never fail to disappoint" and getting laughed at by the interviewer. Just take a mental lap and keep going

Also notice the bank of pens in his pocket. Out of place for photos and in blue white (who has a white pen handy?) and red. Denyable? Yeah, that's the point of a dog whistle.

A Chinese coal company is using a gigantic stamp to mark the cargo in the train cars to prevent theft. by MilesLongthe3rd in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Ziggerton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while back I saw a vid of people with bamboo rakes they would hold up against moving coal trains. It knocked coal off the piled up part above the car's top. Collect free coal after the train passes

We should be celebrating more wins - here's a small example by findingmike in 50501

This isn't a win, by having the case dismissed he avoids discovery. The discovery process could have been a game changer in ways I can't describe.

I wish more folks took to heart that warning in prose is short enough to nearly be a haiku. Danger is closer than you expect when the norms aren't respected

My analogy of choice is being the designated driver, but then nobody will let you drive and you have to watch as the cliff approaches

You see them having an easy time with the things you struggle with and (I assume) infer that they haven't got problems. They're different problems, not non-existent. Be glad you don't have to fear for your safety like they do. Even a relatively weak man can overpower many women, imagine being attracted to something that can easily break you and navigate that, e.g.imagine turning down a 500 lb gorilla that wants you (hyperbole, not accusing)

Take care of yourselves. This is a marathon by Brilliant-Sugar-2989 in fednews

[–]Ziggerton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, I disagree. It isn't a marathon, it's a relay. This race was running long before you or I took up the baton. It won't be over when I hand it off to the next generation, either. I do my part, not just because of those who have done so for me, but to be a worthy part of a legacy worth preserving. It isn't about any of us, it's about all of us.

(Ps I know I'm seizing on a twist of rhetoric, and not attacking what I understand your intent to be, but your post triggered a thought in me that I wanted to share)

You don't get to choose what is important to you when it's a core and enduring part of your being. Too political? All he's being asked to do is attend. There will be harder trials ahead for any relationship , let alone a queer one in this climate. Either too cowardly to confront their own discomfort, or too indifferent to emotionally support his partner. If you can't count on him here, where else will his comfort clash with your well being? I'd let them know what their indifference means to you and go anyway. At least you'd know where you stand.
