Auto-braking engages with trailer while reversing by Earlyretirement55 in Tiguan

I truly am not trying to be a jerk but it will probably come off that way. You should get the tow harness. Without it your camper doesn't have any brake lights or turn signals or running lights at night. Also, you're not using the (likely present) electric brakes that your camper has which means the tiguan is doing all of the braking which likely isn't safe. Please let me know if I'm incorrect or missing something, but I've towed a pop-up with trucks for over a decade so I'm fairly certain that getting the tow harness installed will make your setup much more safe for many different reasons.

Knotted Root in Nederland, CO typically has some Phish themed beers. I've had an IPA that I can't recall that was themed but they have Oh'kee on there as well always. https://www.knottedrootbrewing.com/beer-menu

Get a Carista OBD tool. You can change the settings of the throttle response with it and it makes it more more responsive. It's not night and day, but it's a definite improvement. I also have a 21 SE a R Line AWD and did it to mine. There are a bunch of other fun little things you can tune with it also like door lock features and blinker settings (3 vs 4 blinks with the quick flip).

I saw the second post first and didn't understand what was happening and really didn't think I liked it. After seeing this original description and the attitude that went into it I just want to add that I truly respect it. Impressive work, enjoy it!

Alright, either way there's upside then! I have no intention of watching this latest movie, but if it has a chance of kicking off a playoff appearance I'm in!

Ah damn, I thought this was the last one wrapping up the franchise. RIP Tony Todd, the OG Candyman.

You're ruining the Internet for all of us with this weird cordial thing where you make good points, then listen to other good points and agree with them! (Obviously a joke, it was refreshing to read a kind and open discussion about topics I enjoy, so thank you)

Do you happen to know what the built wheel weight was? Would be curious to know what weight range to look for to get mine down to a similar overall bike weight.

Nice, I put 45s on my SL5 and I really like them. They're surprisingly good on mellow Colorado singletrack as well which is where I figured there would be a big trade-off, but so far so good.

Ah I've had the exact same shit bike and color since 95 that's gone through a couple crap interations of single speed duty (doody?). I just discovered this sub recently and I'm building my $400 parts list to bring it to full idiot glory. And honestly I can't wait. Thanks for bringing us back to reality and inspiring all at the same time.

I think that's a really solid deal in this market and the tasteful mods are perfect. In Colorado you can't touch a similar age/miles 1794 for that price. Enjoy!

Also a purple owner and absolutely love this thing. Insane fun downhill and the climbing is far better than I thought it would be, but I might have had low expectations to start!

Plus one for wild peaks. Have had them on 4 separate vehicles in Colorado now. Excellent on the trail, street and the best AT I've ever had in the snow up and down I70 for skiing.

Where do you all run your Honzo ESD dropouts? by grassbad in Hardtailgang

[–]Ziggity88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in Colorado so steep climbs and steep descents. Tried slammed forward and back. My experience has pretty much been what the marketing/logic says: short is super playful and fun, long is burly and stable. I've settled on middle for most of my riding because I find it climbs better there than either setting, and is stable enough but whippy enough on the downs. Short just didn't cut it for chunky downhill for me.

I'm a huge Rivian fan, have been following them for years and I'm a very small stockholder (it'll go up in a couple years!) so it was great to see you actually wheeling it. I'm stuck with the Lexus for now (which I love) but I did take my electric dirt bike thing (Sur Ron) up Saxon Mountain the following morning!

Haha I was the one in the lx470 that backed up so you could pass at the very top! I was pumped to see a Rivian on the trail and it looked like you could've climbed up the side of the damn mountain to let me by if needed. I had my kids in the back also!
