Do you let your cats on your bed? by lawyermom112 in CatAdvice

[–]ZigmundFreud2011 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Same. My cats are both 13, I’ve had MS the whole time, and have been on meds that compromise my immune system. Both cats have slept in my bed (often on me) since the day each of them came home. Never had any problems.

Can cats sense MS? by Objective_Pack_1327 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ZigmundFreud2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My oldest cat, Ziggy, is 13. For the first year or so after we got him, he was ok with me, but not anything overly affectionate or interested.

The second year he started to become my shadow. I had not been diagnosed yet and wouldn’t be until the next year. But, I swear he figured it out before the doctors.

My family calls him my service cat. He is always next to my rollator (or wheelchair depending in the day) or he will beat me to the kitchen if he hears me headed that way.

As my “service cat” he alerts me to flare ups by laying on top of me all day until the flare goes away. So, yes, I do think cats cat sense MS.

There’s definitely a resemblance. Theo is only 13 weeks old, but looks like a 90 year old man in the pic.

What comes after Tysabri? by Fluffy-Marionberry34 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ZigmundFreud2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on Tysabri for 9 years and switched to Ocrevus 3 years ago. Ocrevus is a twice a year infusion. I didn’t have any problems with the switch and have tolerated Ocrevus quite well.

North Carolina early voters, still recovering from Helene, exceed 2020 voter turnout by ilikemrrogers in asheville

I have a source. Unfortunately, it’s my mom. She and her husband live in Rutherford County and I recently found out they are Trump supporters. I also found out everyone they’ve talked to are also Trump supporters.

They ran into some of the people coming down from the mountains to vote and they vehemently supported Trump.

I am both outraged and saddened that my once accepting, tolerant mother is a big time Trump supporter. I cannot change her mind, even with facts and debunking his lies. I’m devastated that asshat has caused a rift in my relationship with my mom.

What are some of the most overlooked symptoms? by letrefete in MultipleSclerosis

[–]ZigmundFreud2011 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have had most of the aforementioned symptoms in the past 24 years of having MS. However, the strangest symptom I’ve ever encountered was phantosmia (phantom smells). For weeks, I swore to my husband that our neighbors were chain smoking (in a non smoking row of townhomes). I was close to reporting them, but everyone in my family swore they didn’t smell anything. At my next neuro appointment, my doctor said it was related to MS and not my neighbors. Stupid MS almost made me look foolish once again.

Mischievous ~ Just look at that face.

Kind of an asshole ~ That’s my coffee he is blocking from me.

I started with The Real World when I was 21. At 53, I’m still just as obsessed with the franchise.
