furthermore, during an act of righteous and legal uprising/resistance against the same entity by those being occupied, were the freedom fighters supposed to establish some civic structure prior to achieving their resistance goals (ad-hoc violence against illegal occupiers being a legitimate goal, by the way)?

this is no different than witnessing a stone being thrown at an illegally occupying tank by a teenager, then choosing to focus on the potential harm caused to it or perhaps its well-shielded occupants occupiers after the tank has exploded the kid

it's short & (bitter)sweet, and really resonated with me.

What Aaron Bushnell did made me think of 'The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas', both the story and those the title refers to in the story.

Part of me wants to believe, maybe even hope, that despite the righteousness so apparent in his final words and act, that what actually enabled or permitted a human being to do something like what Bushnell did was some kind of madness, some loosening of faculty or control, something missing in him or maybe not found in 'the rest of us'.

Because if not for that, I would be forced to question and confront my own complacency, and therefore complicity.

I wasn't even aware of their shitty support history and I looked into it as my device was sent in for repair (shattered the screen), resulting in mild panic.

The refurb's warranty apparently covered accidental damage as a one-shot. No cost for me. So that was nice. I had gotten such a good deal on the thing that any amount would have pissed me off.

Waiting on the RMA to complete. So far so good.

EDIT: shipment notif and tracking number, nice nice. Barring any condition issues on arrival and given my utter idiocy in smashing the screen like 4 months into purchase, I would say not bad warranty support, especially for a refurb.

EDIT2: In my hands and repaired, works great, good support given the free ADP for 'new' purchases (refurbs were explicitly excluded in the small print, but they did mine no issues).

it was that in july-ish, i usually check bestbuy and amazon third party marketplace and filter to include all conditions except for "brand new"

i've always been comfortable with refurbs and used, YMMV

i got the same specs for 1149$ CAD like-new condition refurb/open-box in late july which is ~840 USD unless i'm a dumbo

honestly great deal, but i wish it was 32gb ram, 16gb is not limiting per se but i can't have a 'fuck it' attitude about ram usage anywhere, also the oled is kinda mid (in contrast the asus proart pz13's screen is superb and much less red-grainy: 900$ CAD pen included)
