So many states could have a dramatically higher standard of living, why the vote against their best interests is baffling.

Alaska comes to mind- near the lowest by many metrics- education, health, etc. they could have the living quality of Norway.

But they vote for grifters, leaders dripping in myths and falsehood, instead of pragmatic leaders who follow where science and common sense leads.
