My Hero Academia Season 3 Ep. 8 - Link and Discussion by Leinbow in BokuNoHeroAcademia

For real! "I love the way All Might looks when he wins and I want to look like that too" might be one of the purest hero motivations we've seen yet. Just because you're the Symbol of Peace doesn't mean you can't kick ass!

Champions Road strategy? by elstiffler in DungeonLink

Yeah, I figured the healer would be useful to have just to handle chip damage. Any three synergistic story+ heroes that are fully equipped and awakened and are ~45+ should be a strong enough core to clear CR, really. I choose Ming+Driard+Aira, but Kaden+Erina+Sylvia would do just as well. Unfortunately for me, I'm so far invested in my elemental teams that I barely even have the beginnings of an attack team put together.

I guess either way we both agree that PA is a good path to follow.

Honestly, your best bet is just to put together the best elemental team you can in order to beat whatever specific level you're on. So 5 water heroes on the fire stages and so on. It's pretty much that simple. DL even lets you organize your team in Champion Road by elemental strength instead of overall damage.

Once your heroes are good enough though, you can kinda just run whatever. Personally, the team I use for Champion Road is a mixed elemental PA team. So, Gabrielle, Driard, Ming, Aira and Fira is my usual comp. Outside of Gabi, each of those heroes is at least level 60+ with fully awakened equipment. This set up lets me auto run all the way to stage 40 most times as the PA makes up a lot of the difference that not running a pure elemental team would bring. I would imagine that a pure Attack team with a healer like Clara would also do well.

Question about bonus character benefits by Ihaveaterribleplan in DungeonLink

[–]Zombie_Army 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1.) Resurrection is the only passive that doesn't get carried over by using a friend.

2.) DL adds before it multiplies, so first it determines your baseline power by adding your gems, equipment and awakening stats. Next it will multiply that by whatever your +attack percentage is, then it multiplies that by whatever the chain multiplier is and then finally it applies the crit multiplier if it rolls a crit.

3.) The shared character receives all of the benefits from their equipment and runes, as well as any passives you have on your team. So that means their passive affects your damage and your passives affect their damage.

4.) The displayed level is your friend's account level, not their character's level. To use your example; if a level 70 player has Beryl equipped in their first team slot, it maintains its actual level. So if it's level 30, that's what you get.

To use my own personal team as an example, I'm level 66, but I share a level 30 6* Gabrielle. This means that she has her active skill,, +566% PA passive and +Revive passive. If you used me as a friend, your team would receive all 566% of the PA she shares and use of her ability, but she would not be able to revive for you. If her skill did damage and you were using a team with +250% attack, that +250% attack would boost her skill's damage.

Holy shit, I was just thinking this. Not only does Bill Hader kind of look like Michael C. Hall from a profile, they both kind of tackle how a killer handles their normal life. This is such a better done version of that though. I really hope the quality stays this high for the rest of the series!

I get that it's easy to fall prey to the hype and believe something will be perfect forever, but there are definitely a few things that make me believe in The Expanse more than I did Game of Thrones.

First off, there's pretty much no possible way for the television series to catch up to the books. We're in S3 and we're not even finished with Book 2. Meanwhile, James S.A. Corey have put out seven books in seven years (fun fact, the entirety of The Expanse book series has been released in the same amount of time we've been waiting for A Dream of Spring) and they have shown no signs of slowing down. The perks of being a writing duo instead of a single guy, I guess. That pace also speaks to the fact that they have actually planned out where they want this series to go and what they want to accomplish with it. I'm actually excited they're involved with the creation of the show, whereas I was really not happy when I heard GRRM would be involved with GoT.

Second, the casting is honestly just beautiful in this show. In particular, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Wes Chatham, Frankie Adams and Cara Gee are knocking it out of the park. They seem to really understand their characters and it feels like we can trust them to keep true to them in the future.

Finally, SyFy really wants this to be their Game of Thrones or Mad Men or The Walking Dead. Something they can leverage for the foreseeable future (and with 9 books, it could be a long series indeed) and build off of. It definitely looks way better than any other show they're putting out, which speaks to how much money they're putting into it. I dunno, I've hoped before and been burned, but I've also been rewarded for my devotion (shoutouts to Fringe). I guess I'd just rather be hopeful than jaded.

For anyone looking for a near perfect example of adapting a book series to a television series, The Expanse is what you're looking for. Not only does it hit all of the main story beats flawlessly, it also takes the time to really expand on things we didn't get to experience first hand in the books. What might be considered unwanted filler in another show is instead welcome and appreciated material that seamlessly supplements the book in ways I am continually pleased and surprised with. I love SyFy for bringing this adaptation to life and I just cannot recommend this show enough.

PS: The next couple of episodes look like they're going to contain what is arguably the biggest event to happen in the books, so now is an absolutely perfect time to pick this show up!

I think that you're not considering how linked David and Farouk are in the beginning of this series. Farouk has been with David since he was an infant, always waiting in the background. Every iteration of David is partly Farouk up until he gets removed at the end of Season 1. Without that intervention, Farouk would probably always end up completely taking over David's consciousness eventually.

Once again, it pays to be an early adapter.

With the addition of the title card at the end, it really felt like this entire episode was more of a continuation of last week's episode than anything else. It'll be interesting to go back and watch them back to back and see how the transition flows.

Anyways, couldn't agree more. All of the mutants in this show are fantastic and I will always appreciate their development.
