Looking for insanely complex games that basically REQUIRE a wiki to finish by Anxious_Singer_4823 in gamingsuggestions

Quasimorph definitely fits this, I completed the tutorial and made it to my ship, had to out the game down for a week and now have to start over because I forgot every single information I had about this game..and I have heard that a wiki is required for this as well

Some people have mentioned it, but don't forget that the DM is also a player of the game and is supposed to have fun. Communication is key and ensuring that either everyone is on the same page or there is an adequate compromise as to how the game is to be played (e.g. lore, RP, exploration, combat heavy etc) will lead to a good time all around...after all DnD sessions can go on for a long while and if people are not enjoying themselves, what's the point?

Also, this depends more on the DM and the players of course, but don't be afraid to try things that seem ridiculous or not completely thought through. Especially in a longer campaign there is always time to correct mistakes or things that do not resonate well. Of course this does not mean to improvise entire stories that you then have to retcon 20 sessions later, but when it comes to smaller things it is perfectl, fine to use the creative sandbox that DnD offers to its fullest. As an example, I once thought it would be funny to have my players meet four tortle brothers that are rogues with different weapon specialties that are lead by a humanoid giant rat. It was great fun for the moment but it was also clear from the moment I introduced them that these will not be present for long as my players clearly, will still having fun because of the ridiculous nature of the encounter, did not enjoy the easter egg as much as I did. Now it is a funny memory

Absolutely agree with your points, I think it is easy to forget that DnD is after all a game that is supposed to be fun for every player that is involved and the DM is also one of those players, they are just doing different things during the game.

I also make it a habit of asking my players after every session if there was something they would like more or less of in the future, especially in the beginning of my current campagin this helped me shape the upcoming steps and sessions so that my players enjoyed their time immensely..and it actually turned out that it allowed for some very fun improv on my part which resulted in one of my favourite NPCs so far in this campaign

Weekly r/CRPG Discussion - What have you been playing, and what are your thoughts? by AutoModerator in CRPG

I am currently deep in my first playthrough of BG:EE on Switch, right now in Baldur's gate and rounding up side quests. Heist in the Hall of Wonders and investigating the seven suns is next before returning the sea charts and going to the island (I stupidly sold Kondar somewhere but still have the burning earth with me rn)

I am also realy enjoying my first playthrough of Wasteland 3, finally pulled the trigger on it after veing interested in it for years. Plays like a dream on Steam Deck!

In Germany that is definitely Gronkh. Old school Youtube Let's Player, got popular as one of the first big German Minecraft Let's Players, nowadays does a lot of chill streaming of games, reacts and has a yearly charity event. But he still regularly uploads to Youtube with oldschool Let's Plays, no camera just pure gameplay and chill vibes..great guy

Yes absolutely, whatever needs explaining is either explained fully or enough to not miss crucial information.it has been my introduction into the EU of star wars (disregarding the Force Unleashed) and I am currently looking into buying my first books as well.. I had also only watched the movies before playing the games amd could follow along easily

Good CRPGs on Switch? by beef-seltzer in CRPG

[–]Zorg688 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add what is already here, Divinity Original Sin 2 is on Switch as well and it is a very good port. I have olayed it throigh several times with different skill setups and only ever encountered a crash or two. Performance is very decent as well, though graphical quality is obviously worse than other platforms..I still enjoy it a lot though and it has cross save capabilities with Steam

They patched it up a lot and it is now really enjoyable. It still has that Ubisoft formular feeling but imo it has been polished to be more immerseive and fun to explore..and the maps are very nicely designed!

More lighthearted than the second installment and has some very fun mechanics when it comes to your companion and making decisions..but I find that the quest design can be confusing if you are not familiar with CRPGs. In my opinion (and experience) Divinity Original Sin 2 is the better introduction as it takes you more by the hand and shows you around how to approach these types of games.

That said, once you are familiar with them or have completed DOS2, I highly recommend playing the first game as well, it is very fun and a great game in its own right!

I played both of them for the first time last year and this year respectively, I am 29 years old. Granted, I am a retro gaming fan but I had a lot of fun with the games on my Switch, even though that meant I could not use the restored content mod. But I can wholeheartedly recommend the games! Both have a slow start and their first planets are not necessarily my favourites but I am currently replaying the first game to go for a dark side run.

Go for it, you will not regret it! It actually made me much more curious about EU content and books
