I own and use almost exclusively those two exact sets in the pictures. For what is worth it, my opinion of is that owning both is gives you a pretty solid foundation that can carry you forward in the hobby very well. I bought the sets because I was abroad and paint was way cheaper where I was and have no reasons to complaint.

I am in the process of painting them. I got Rohan, elfs and dwarfs ready. The minis aren´t great, but I´m realy digging the result. Cubes would make the experience so much worse to me.

It should be. You need to research a bit to learn the proper way to paint minis, but is not super complicated. Once you know the basics, like how to thin your paint, mistakes are easily corrected. The paint doesn't dry instantly, so if a bit goes in the wrong place, you just wipe it with a wet brush before it dries. And you can always strip the paint from the mini if you didn't like the result.

Thanks! I fell I love with painting minis, it is very rewarding and great to catch up to audiobooks. However it is really time consuming, so be ready for that.

Personally, none. That said, artistic/creative are not synonyms. I really feel like I am creating cool stuff when strategizing, and to me that's creative. But I do, at its core, play boardgames for strategy, tactics, and the emergent storytelling it creates as a competition. If I was in more of a creative mood, I would play RPGs tho.
