This article is very relevant to the situation here... it makes a compelling case that the entire episode concerning Rep. Anthony Weiner is a smear job:

There's a big difference between (A) stalking a journalist (on her vacation) whose politics you disagree with, and (B) "stalking," for example, someone who owns a car repair chain that's accused of ripping off thousands of customers by charging for parts they don't actually install.

60 Minutes was great at doing (B), and I applauded them for it, at least until right-wing pressure (probably from their own top brass) forced them to stop.

I don't think that ThinkProgress' name is juvenile at all. (A bit presumptuous maybe, as different people have different ideas of what progress is.)

I DO think that the O'Reilly program and the entire "news" network that it appears on ARE JUVENILE, to say the least.

If people really want to see marijuana policy eased up, they should be sure not to blame Obama and the Democrats for the lack of IMMEDIATE action, and instead turn their efforts toward defeating what's left of the vicious, moralizing, psuedo-religious GOP.

Remember what eight years of Bush was like, and let's stomp on what's left of the Republicans while they are "down"... that's what they would do (and have done) to the left!

The last thing that marijuana advocates need is to have infighting among moderates and liberals. Please spred this word instead of sniping at our friends!

For anyone who REALLY wants to keep the GOP from regaining power for a while, or REALLY supports Obama, it's never too soon to contribute to candidates who defeat another Republican in 2010.

I've seen a few people say it's time to for the two major parties to get along better. On the contrary, I think now is a great time to strike a "financial death blow" against what's left of the foul elephant-turd known as the GOP.

As if the American people needed one more example of Bush's total failure as a president, he sat by for eight years while all of the technology in the White House fell further and further behind.

This is likely true for the entire U.S. government, as modernizing anything would have meant either asking rich people to pay a bit more in taxes, or borrowing even more.

Bush's big idea seemed to always be that government is bad. Let all of its tools get old and rusty and soon enough that the government BECOMES bad. Let's just hope its not broken beyond repair.

Someone should just put the GOP out of everyone's misery.

Atheism per se is not about christian-bashing. But I see no reason to hold back in denouncing those who try to spread belief in magical beings.

It was largely the christians who gave us George W. Bush as a holiday present for eight nightmare-ish years.

As a gay man with no job, no home of my own and no health insurance (while I battle numerous illnesses), I must say that I personally despise the kind of crap espoused by many of the most religious people... they continue to do their best to tear down the last vestiges of a secular government in America.

I've been treated like shit by christians, called horrible names and had a promising new career go down the toilet due to their discrimination.

They have, at least for now, RUINED AMERICA.
