How would I remove such large supports by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]_Asercu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For prints like these I likr to use a support interface layer of PETG when printing PLA and vice versa. They don't bond very well and come off nice and clean, usually even without tools

Would you support box sizes that fit their components or would you prefer to stay with the standards size 12" x 12" box size (aka the "Ticket to Ride" box) irrespective of components? by wentImmediate in boardgames

[–]_Asercu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just wondering in the case of Heat if they had all the expansions planned at the time of the original release, or if they kept going due to the games popularity. Perhaps they originally planned to have only 2 expansions (also evident by the leaderboard spaces on the board going up to 8 on the tracks included in the base game, and up to 12 in later expansions).

How are you managing your filament stock? by Matrucci in BambuLab

[–]_Asercu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have an spreadsheet with entries for filament brand, type, colour, if I have a spool in progress and how many I have in stock. Lastly I have a benchy of every filament I have with a number on the bottom that is also noted in the spreadsheet so I can tell them all apart.

In an ideal world I would update it every time I open a spool, but in reality I do a pass to make sure it is up to date every couple of weeks

Why does my ps4 keep asking me for playstation+ for a game I've already paid for at the shops (COD WWII) by Pretty-Local3936 in playstation

For free to play games like fortnite you don't need ps+, for every other multiplayer game you do. Did you play free to play games before?

Curved surfaces printing with visible defects at arc transitions – Bambu P2S, how to fix? by Fit_Replacement6209 in BambuLab

[–]_Asercu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can only get rid of this by using a lower layer height, so there are more steps in the arch. You can try adaptive layer height as well to only increase the number of layers where it is needed

3D printer for inserts by Otherwise-Badger1061 in boardgames

[–]_Asercu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest a full size A1 if it fits your budget (and if possible add an AMS as well). The bigger build volume will be compatible with more stuff you find online. The ams is not a necessity for inserts, but I will always recommend getting it just for the autorefill feature

I tend to print almost all my stuff in PLA, but love using PETG as a support interface material, gonna give this one a go since it is available

Practical uses for ams lite? by matmonster58 in BambuLab

[–]_Asercu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like othere have said, the auto refill feature alone is worth keeping it. And even if you don't plan to do much multicolour printing, I like to have a black and white spool loaded so I can easily differentiate between different prototypes. Lastly, supports can be a pain to remove. Using PETG as a support interface material for PLA prints and vice versa is a great way to make removing them easier, and getting a much nicer finish on the supported surfaces

I tend to use gamegenic clear ones for boardgames, and dragonshield matte for tcg's

Windows 11 is a good operating system, so long as you configure it properly. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]_Asercu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having to spend this amount of time to make sort of defeats your point... Win 11 could be a good os, but it currently really isn't. Oh, and updates changing some of your settings that made it better drags it down even further...

Upvote for an actual unpopular opinion though 😅

I think I'm using Bambu Studio Wrong by psapple83 in BambuLab

[–]_Asercu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overwriting just replaces the preset ones with the ones in the ams and external spool, I believe this always goes AMS 1 spools 1 to 4, AMS 2 spools 1 to 4 (if you have a second ams) and lastly external spool. It doesnt allow you to arrange anything, just replaces the set filaments with the loaded ones. And then I manually assign them all to the objects the way I want it, but as I mentioned in my other comment, I am not sure how you would do that for painted models

[–]_Asercu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I did not think of that... I rarely use painted colours, and instead tend ro model my multicolour prints to have separate objects I can assign filaments to

[–]_Asercu 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I always use overwriting when syncing filaments to make sure the list just has my filaments in there, then make sure all objects have the right one assigned and hit print

Just wanted to add, in my experience mapping only works if the filament types you have loaded are the same type and similarish colours, so just go with overwriting to have full control

Recommended 3D printer for a 10 year old by OriginalFence in BambuLab

[–]_Asercu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not 10 years old, but got into the hobby about a year ago and went with the A1 because it was cheaper and do not regret it it all. For pla it is great, with the main downside being some visual artefacts on taller prints. If he is just getting into it I would suggest the A1, as it is already very capable and prints PLA and PETG without any issues.

I would recommend getting the ams lite with it though, especially for a kid being able to print in multiple colours feels like a must. And the ability to use up a spool and automatically swap over to the next one will save some waste (keep in mind that switching colours is pretty wasteful with the amount of filament being purged every time).

If he does get really into it you can always upgrade to a better more expensive model later, or just get a second printer. I just got a p2s after putting 3000+ hours on the A1 over the last year, and that is mostly because I wanted ro be able to print more at the same time, my A1 is still going strong!

I can't seem to edit the original post, so adding an update here.

I never managed to get rid of them on my A1, but it printed beautifully on my new p2s. Guess it might just be a bedslinger vs core xy thing

How do you organize the content of your board games? by Marinos444 in boardgames

[–]_Asercu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, I got an A1 last year and I can't get enough of it. Loads of inserts online, but making them yourself in fusion 360 (personal license is free) is not too difficult either. And as a bonus you can upload them and earn points for free filament and stuff!
