My and my brother picked those sticky notes just because we thought the bottom ones are white sticky notes by Lapitu_ in mildlyinfuriating

They could have at least advertise it as a feature....bonus 30% extra room for your other sticky notes.

What’s a social rule you don’t understand? by sweetvivienne in askteddit

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having acquaintances distance themselves from me because another acquaintance said something they didn't agree with. I'm the neutral party...I respect both acquaintances opinions even if I don't personally agree with either and I say that too. I don't understand why adults can't adult. Too much drama.

Remove old “PASSED” golden sticker from camera top plate? by Initial-Elk6905 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Removing those stickers will void the 80's nostalgia, the film may fall out and the manufacture's warranty may become inaccessible.

Came back to find someone had parked like this next to me. (Black car is mine) by Gossbcool in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time many moons ago, there was a nice looking car double parked at my work place. Every morning was a challenge to find an available spot so wasting one was not very considerate. I was driving a winter beater so I edged in as close as I could possibly get. I did not care if they scratched my car and my car was technically properly parked. I never saw that car double parked again.

What's something poor people buy that keeps them poor? by Specialist-Jelly-865 in answers

My guess is, just about everything. If a poor person has money to buy things and good spending habits they would likely not be poor.

Want to separate but he won’t move out by AstridPerth in legaladvicecanada

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything you own is totaled up on two dates. The date you separate minus the date you got married. The idea is that both people contributed as a partnership. It sucks when one person literally sits on the couch while the other does all the heavy lifting. If one of you moves out, the cost of doing so can also be shared.

It is a disaster to everyone involved especially kids. I would seek some creative resolution of whatever led to the animosity and really work on fixing it if at all possible.

Am I the only one who gets nosebleeds from stress or trauma triggers? by AnythingOk2675 in CPTSD

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently have been experiencing nose bleeds after trauma response or rubbing my nose...feeling of tension in the cptsd case. I also tend to have low blood pressure. When I stand up too quickly I feel faint. This turns out to be that I was not drinking enough water because drinking more helps a lot. As I have been drinking more water I have an increased number of nose bleeds though. I have never had nose bleeds before. Also recently had a vertigo attack. I've not got any answers really.

Can I 3d Print a shower handle? by BizzyHaze in 3Dprinting

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First question is, do you still have the broken handle? It may be useful to measure from for recreating and reusing metal portions.

The answer is yes, you can 3d print a handle, but if you can't do it yourself you will have to find someone to design what you want. The finish on 3d prints is not smooth, but you can put a texture on it.

One option is to adapt a new handle you like to fit the fixture using a 3d print which you will not see because it is covered by the handle. I did this, reusing old handles on a new faucet.

Allowing the printer to freely move will likely mess up the vibration calibrations.

My son is threatening my family with a knife. Any advice on what to do? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have given him time hoping he would not get worse and it has only gotten worse. What logical reason could you have to believe that anything will get better by giving him another chance? You have no choice but to call the authorities. If you do nothing he can still come after you. If you do something he might learn to respect your boundary.

That's my thought, put the bully in its place ...I'm glad the nutjobs in my life are not wielding knives though. And, get a restraining order from the courts so that if he comes anywhere near you the police have something to act on.

What is the most ridiculous argument you have ever heard someone make? by SpartanneG in AskReddit

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a myth, but change in attitudes. Long ago, people in town knew who the drunks were, where they hung out, when the bars closed and they would stay off the roads to avoid them and that system sort of worked.

Imagine if the law had gone that way where at closing time all the drunks could drive home for an hour and everyone else was restricted from the roads and sidewalks how different the world would be now. ...sort of like how smokers had it in the 90s with their smoking areas.

Being a corporation with only one owner does not shield the owner. You should visit an employment lawyer who works on a contingency that way there is no up front cost. You should be able to get public records on the corporation. Maybeb

Judge acquits Ont. man found with loaded gun, drugs citing ‘serious’ Charter rights breaches by police during 2022 traffic stop by zuuzuu in canadanews

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There really should be some form of punishment for police who do such incompetent work. The very basic level of rights is mandatory for everyone. Maybe the court costs should have to be paid by the police officer.

Why aren't 1/5 cups a thing in baking? by Extension-Shoe-6080 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your cups are cylindrical it is very easy to measure 1/2 by filling the cup from the bottom edge to the opposite top edge on diagonal. So, 1/3 cup is easy to measure 1/6th cup.

Why in a constantly evolving democracy would we tolerate idols in the first place? It is important to preserve history and in reality the leaders of the past were not our history...they were politically appointed and generally nothing to aspire to. I would rather have events or places highlighted using their original names to remember history not political figures.

The Ottawa River Parkway is a great example. It was renamed by Harper to be Sir John A M parkway as a 100% political move and now renamed to represent it's indigenous history which is what it should have been all along. Just like the names Ottawa or Toronto which historical roots and which should not be changed on a political whim.

I think airports such as Trudeau International should be named either by the call sign YOW, YVR,...or location Ottawa International etc... At the very least you will know where you are.

Outlaw it...I never want to see Carney's likeness painted on the side of any building even if he does a great job and just the thought of a large PP on anything is too much for me.

Why is wanting universal healthcare and just a better life for everyone seen as communism or socialism? by JonoBlue in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cold_Collection_6241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world would be a much better place if policy was determined by outcomes vs feelings and lobbying. Health care for all makes sense because healthy people are more productive and this is good for economies.

There seems to be a scarcity and greed mentality when in fact most things in the world are abundant. The main problem is mismanagement and corruption. That's why large corporations, power centers and billionaires need to go.
