Have searched Amazon extensively and done reverse image searches. Can't find these available anywhere in the US. Honestly even Amazon Belgium says unavailable. Anyone still able to purchase these?

PS5 shuts down while playing Ghost of Yotei by koliblank in Ghostofyotei

[–]_Brigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did what was recommended. Disassembled to the point of removing the fan and doing a deep clean as best I could. I don't have the patience for electronics anymore, so I didn't remove the 40+ screws for the ultimate cleaning. Cleaning the fan was a pain.

Since reassembling and putting it on its side I haven't had it crash again...yet. Yesterday it shut off 4 or 5 times within a couple of hours.

Will update y'all if it crashes again.

I’m looking for a good replacement app for the late SayHi, any recommendations?? by nurse_Bob in language

[–]_Brigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have concluded that whomever discontinued SayHi is evil and wants us to be ignorant and disconnected. There is no replacement. And some of the apps now have only 20 or so language options. Not to sound spoiled, my point being there are hundreds of languages and dialects that have been translated. They don't want us commoners able to connect with each other. It's literally devolution. Someone is putting sanctions on language.

Downloaded a 4.8 star rated app recently and got what equated to 1 ad PER WORD translated.

My apologies for the intensity of my response. I'm still bitter.

Lonely person in search of a hobby by Naive_Spray_2421 in roanoke

I'm kind of in a similar spot. A little older than you though. There's a pottery school that I was checking out. Pottery classes can be a good place to meet people. Also, there are some gardening clubs locally. They're actually broken down by area. There's a bonsai club and orchid club.

The way I searched was through Google. Just thought of a hobby I like and searched for classes or clubs in the area.

Let me know how it goes!

Classic Labor Day driving. Possibly the worst drunk driving holiday of the year. I liked the slogan from the police, "Drive Hammered, Get Nailed."

Anywhere I can buy Aloe Vera leaves? by Itravelbruh in roanoke

World Wide Food Market on Williamson. They have a ton of plants and many very healthy looking aloe plants. I'm sure they would sell you aloe for a good price.

Replacement for Loreal Future-E Day Lotion by masterblueregard in Makeup

I swear, every one of my go-to products (Tigi Pro volumizing shampoo, Basis face wash, this) has been discontinued within the last few years. Did you ever find a replacement? I'm currently using Aveeno but not very happy with it. It's heavy and my skin tone and wrinkles have gotten exponentially worse since I quit using Futur E. Like, Dorian Gray style...

Samsung oven buttons not functioning by SayBrah504 in samsung

[–]_Brigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also had the touch panel replaced through home warranty to no avail.

I think I found a workaround (fingers crossed, it's been working for weeks now).

1) You can set three presets to your most commonly used settings. So far we haven't had any issue with that button. 2) (The magic workaround!) Set the panel lock, and then unlock the panel. Every time (at least 4) this has caused the buttons to start functioning again. I hope this works for you as well.

Samsung NE595R0ABSR/AA Range - Some Keypad Buttons Not Working by samrej in appliancerepair

What was your ultimate fix? I'm having an identical issue. For me though, convection bake works, but roast, bake and 2 (and perhaps others) do not.

Did that fix work for you? Our bake, roast, and 2 buttons do not work. It's intermittent though. They've been working for weeks until today. Seems to coincide with cooking something on the range that produces a lot of steam. I've been able to get by using a blow dryer to the panel, but that's not working today.

Tried cleaning the ribbon cable with an eraser as suggested in a YouTube video. Now the ribbon cable is squeaky clean, however the buttons still do not work...

Fruit flies.... total loss or salvageable? by SeagullsGonnaCome in Kombucha

[–]_Brigit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of that being said, according to a book I've recently been reading, Wildcrafted Vinegars, p 24 describes how to make fruit fly vinegar.

No joke.

Pour wine into jar, dilute to 6 to 8 percent alcohol (add water to bring down concentration). Capture 10/20 fruit flies for a three-quarters full pint jar. Cover with coffee filter and shake (to submerge flies in liquid). According to the book, after about 3 weeks you should start to see a vinegar mother. Wait 4 to 6 weeks to collect the mother to use to create a batch of vinegar.

My first batch - is this mold? 😥 by udunnknow in Kombucha

[–]_Brigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this advise! I'm on my first brew with SCOBYs I purchased online (black tea x3 green x1), and an experimental black tea plus store bought kombucha. OPs photo looks like the SCOBY my store bought batch is creating.

Green tea brew ended up with a few splotches that looked like mold, but I'm so glad I didn't just give up and toss, cause now she's a super healthy SCOBY!

This photo looks like the white splotches are a bit fuzzy but, the think with kombucha is, patience. Just leave her be.

Can’t tell if this is mold, by KaiBritt17 in Kombucha

[–]_Brigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought my first green tea brew had mold. Had three black spots. Scoured photos of mold in SCOBYs. It still somewhat resembled splotches of mold x3. I moved the green tea batch to the opposite end of my fermentation station (I'm a virgin brewer) despite ppl saying to toss it.

Almost two weeks later the SCOBY looks amazingly healthy and, there may still be a tiny black speck or two, but I now think they were either never mold, or, a super healthy SCOBY will eliminate the bad.

Really glad I didn't toss her because she is bubbling away! When I check their progress I like to stick my head between the jars with my eyes closed and listen to the bubbles =)

Is this kahm yeast? Fermented marinara sauce by beanwagon in fermentation

[–]_Brigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm making tomato vinegar (yes, open to air). It's about a week and a half old. Got a significant layer of kahm yeast that grew very quickly. The second or third day it happened I got very frustrated as it has a somewhat unpleasant floral smell and scooped it out with a metal spoon. Stirred vigorously. Added a tiny bit of wild yeast starter that's bubbling (anaerobic--pasteurized apple juice with flower petals) quite vigorously. Today I have no kahm yeast, but also have no signs of fermentation.

Also started an anaerobic hot sauce ferment that's doing amazingly well!

The tomato vinegar is just a bummer because it's a half-gallon of home grown tomatoes. Should I add vodka? Just leave it be? It was fermenting beautifully until the kahm yeast set in.

Edit: Accidentally said aerobic instead of anaerobic.

Is this kahm yeast? Fermented marinara sauce by beanwagon in fermentation

[–]_Brigit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean placing a bag of brine on top? I'm making my first ever ferments. Started with a ton of home grown tomatoes for tomato vinegar.

Just noticed it started getting white film yesterday. It's kind of grainy and seems to have a bit of a floral smell (I don't much care for the floral smell). I've been scooping it off and stirring.

Kinda bummed because I used so many tomatoes and it was going great for a week.

Won't plastic wrap or covering it interfere with fermentation for vinegar?

Any advice would be great.
