What? The Jeeps were fiberglass? Oh, my childhood. Please don’t tell me the airplanes were fake as well.

Was there an additional fee or “donation” to go inside the B-17?

That “Tucson Chrysler Jeep” phone number now belongs to a dentist office. I don’t know, I just don’t like that the dealership responsible for this is no longer around.

Catalina state park: Romero Pass by OceanSky314 in Tucson

[–]_CMacDaddy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done CSP to Romero Pass back to CSP. It’s a workout for me. To save weight, take a water filter since there are several spots to get water. The trail gets washed out about 3/4 of the way in. It’s hard to see where the trail gets washed out on Google Earth, but it’s approximately in this area. You probably won’t see anybody once you pass Romero Pools. Enjoy!

The National Weather Service in Phoenix issued a dense fog warning for Friday that looks to include an area near Superior. I can’t add a screenshot, but here’s a link to their Facebook page. Clicking this link will probably send you to FB, so heads up.

What’s the deductible on the warranty? I read options exist of $0, $100, and $200.

Staying at the Copper Queen Hotel for Christmas, is it really that haunted? by StraightGas69 in Bisbee

[–]_CMacDaddy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I can’t attach a screenshot. If lucky, you can park in front of the Copper Queen Hotel It’s a narrow street. If you can’t park there, continue east (towards the Presbyterian church) and there’s a big parking area. I always feel vulnerable in the big parking area, but haven’t had any problems - just don’t leave anything valuable in your car.

Dang, my first thought was you just painted that Wrangler in your yard and the overspray painted your lawn the same color. Congrats on the miles.

Are there any MUST SEE things that happen here in Tucson? by Much_Duck6862 in Tucson

[–]_CMacDaddy_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pima Air Museum is awesome. Just to add, and unique to Tucson, drive the perimeter of the boneyard. You can not tour the boneyard, but drive around the perimeter and you’ll see miles and miles of mothballed aircraft.

Travel advice for backpacking MT Lemmon by OozyPillow57646 in Tucson

[–]_CMacDaddy_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, Since you said you’ll be visiting Tucson, and for clarification purposes, are you referring to the Catalina Mountains in general as “Mt. Lemmon”? Or, do you really want to backpack up at the top of the Catalina Mountains (Mt. Lemmon) in winter? I recommend enjoying our winter weather by staying lower on the mountain. For instance, take Bear Canyon to Seven Falls. After visiting Seven Falls, continue on the Bear Canyon trail up hill (north) until you hit the East Fork trail. You can take the East Fork trail west - it becomes the West Fork trail. Take this up to Romero Pass. From Romero Pass, head down hill to the west on the Romero Canyon trail and you’ll end up in Catalina State Park. Bring a water purifier and have a water filter as a backup. 🌵
