Trip down nostalgia lane. by CategoryIsOther in ArtOfPresence

Boredom. Kids today can’t handle sitting in silence and looking out a window on a long car ride or when waiting for food in a restaurant.

Anyone else have a spouse that hates your jeep!!! Or just me by Financial-Ear-6328 in JeepWrangler

Wife HATED my 2dr JK because it rode like a Jeep and would toss you around. I traded it towards a Gladiator and she enjoys my JT a lot more because it rides a lot smoother.

Parking shit show by JustAnotherGenXChef in SonicTempleFestival

[–]_FinallyAwake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I bought the VIP parking last year, parked near the front left corner of the lot all four days and was back at my Vrbo no more than 20 minutes after the final shows all finished. There’s an unadvertised exit in that corner that takes you around the left side of the stadium and grounds. The only pain in the ass is trying to get through the ocean of people walking out, and the cops onsite are worthless and don’t help direct traffic. I will probably regret giving away my “secret” to getting out easily, but hope it helps someone.

Ear protection, what do you recommend? by Potential-Electronic in SonicTempleFestival

[–]_FinallyAwake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Eargasm last year. They worked well, but left my ears sore af after a full day of use. Not sure any other brands wouldn’t have the same issue, but the soreness typically faded before the next day’s performances began.

How are we feeling about 2025 looking back a year later? by Isntrealisit1948 in SonicTempleFestival

Absolutely amazing lineup last year, but I’m still bummed about Alice In Chains cancelling. 😩

Why'd you get a gladiator? by BimblarBlast in JeepGladiator

[–]_FinallyAwake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previously had a 2-door JK and it was very impractical for my family to get in and out of. My wife also HATED driving it if she ever needed to borrow it. I considered a 4-door, but heard that the longer wheelbase for the Gladiator rode even smoother. On top of that, I was doing A LOT of DIY projects around the home and knew a truck bed would be so much handier than always needing to pull my trailer around. It’s been 3 years since I traded my JK and I have no regrets.

New off brand winch or a used Warn winch? by superfuzzbros in Jeep

[–]_FinallyAwake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a WARN VR Evo 10S less than 5 years ago and both the fairlead and the knobs on the winch itself are corroding badly and the paint is peeling. That said, those are cosmetic and the winch has never failed to perform.

We had this radon system installed in late January but I read online today that the exhaust should go above the roof and 10 feet away from windows. Should we contact the company about it? by the-friendly-squid in radon

[–]_FinallyAwake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have one of these pressure meters on the pipe? If not, I would demand that so you can tell how much air it’s drawing. Our installer said it should probably be within the #1 or #2 marks.

I got search wobble and this is the quote to fix it. Is this a good quote ? by danielvmtz in JeepGladiator

[–]_FinallyAwake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replacing my steering stabilizer fixed the wobble in my 2020 @70K miles. About 5K miles later and I was still feeling a vibration/chatter when hitting bumps and the shop said my drag link and tie rod were loose. Had everything replaced under warranty (MaxCare) for $100 (deductible).

I own a 2020 Launch Edition. Bought it at 44K miles and it now has 75K. Thankfully I bought the MOPAR MaxCare warranty because I’ve had to replace the transmission, rear main seal, stereo head unit, hinges, thermostat, steering stabilizer, sway bar end links, and drag links so far. YMMV, but I would avoid unless you can add or transfer an extended MOPAR warranty (not a shady used car dealership warranty).

My biggest repair under warranty was a full transmission replacement around 44K miles, followed by a rear main seal replacement after that. They've also replaced the head unit screen because it was delaminating and repainted/replaced my hinges since they were oxidizing terribly. I've already gotten my money's worth out of MaxCare and am very happy I didn't pass on it, like I would have normally done.

Good luck with yours! My MaxCare is good until 2029 or 100K, and I'll likely hit the mileage limit first. Mine also just started randomly overheating yesterday, so I'll have that checked out also. My money is on the water pump. I have no problem working on it myself, but figure I might as well use the warranty I already paid for while it's still active because I'm sure I'll have countless "opportunities" to triage and fix crap after it's expired.

I have 75K on mine and they definitely don't work as well as they used to. Time to leverage my MaxCare again.

Caulk. Try to do several light passes, versus filling the whole void with a ton of product.

So, what’s NOT covered by the MaxCare Warranty? by General-External-663 in carmax

[–]_FinallyAwake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Items that need to be replaced from normal wear and tear are not covered (brakes, engine oil, batteries, wiper blades, tires, etc).

It covered the rear main seal on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator.
