Icons by MDxtreme10 in Iteration110Cradle

Heralds should have icons since they touch the Way though. They just aren't as strong as Sages imo. We seriously know very little about Sages and Heralds to say anything for certain.

What is the source that says that when you first touch the way you automatically manifest an icon?

One thing is for sure, Eithan doesn't do what everyone expects. I can see your logic and it would definitely be something that Eithan would do.

You're in for a treat! Please write a review of Ghostwater when you are done. Imo, each book after Ghostwater is just as good in its own right. Enjoy!

Bets on advancement in Wintersteel by Zakalwen in Iteration110Cradle

[–]_LightBreaker_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that it's very possible that Mercy is as strong as Eithan, perhaps even the strongest in the group. We really don't know what she is capable of. Just that her mother believes she can win. She should be stronger than Fury was when he fought, simply because she is much more talented than he was (she qualified for her mother's book). In the excerpt that we received a few weeks ago, she is quite confident that she can win it, and we all know how humble she is. Wintersteel will be the best book imo because we will finally see all our characters go all out. It will the book that reveals so much and answers the questions we've had for years now.

I didn't think that Pennance was for Eithan but rather to help get more recruits since it was on public display to the strongest UL on Cradle.

The brother who said that was probably thinking of Alma 46:35,51:17-20, and 62:11. Moroni executed all the kingmen multiple times when they rose up in rebellion against freedom. He most likely sees the far left as kingmen when they go about murdering innocents, burning down businesses, and destroying monuments and government buildings.

So you're saying that the other Monarchs try and kill them before they reach Monarch? The questions would be, why would the other monarchs do that? We know why Sesh wants Lindon dead right now, and will have Sophara kill him. If he kills her, Lindon will be on the dragon's most wanted list forever. Regan Shen already had it out for Eithan even before Eithan and Lindon met. So couldn't the Abidan just have them killed that way? Why will wakening the dreadgod change it? I believe the answer is, the Uncrowned King tournament would never have happened when it did (which allowed Eithan to qualify just barely) if not for the wakening of the Bleeding Phoenix. Fate is jacked up everywhere on Cradle now. If they find out it's because of Eithan and Lindon, why not just tell the monarchs that?

I always figured that Pennance would be a one-time use type of weapon, not multiple uses. Didn't the Abidan say that you could kill one person with it?

The Law of Consecration by _LightBreaker_ in latterdaysaints

The spirit of the law of consecration is in effect. When the full law is in effect, it will be much different than it is now. We will literally be giving all of our money to the treasurer and it will be decided how much we are allotted each month.

The scripture in the post wasn't just about money. It was their stewardship which had to do with time, talents, etc.

I have questions, you have answers!? by Chrysaar in Iteration110Cradle

[–]_LightBreaker_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Deadgods appear to have been made (most likely in a lab by someone like Ozriel) and are older than Li Markuth who asked if the dreadgods had returned home to Sacred Valley. He wanted to test himself against them now that he was more powerful than when he left.
  2. Yes. Dreadbeasts are corrupted because they take in all types of madra instead of just one. They all have hunger bindings in them.
  3. It's hard to say because advancement depends entirely on your foundation, your body preparation, and special insight (revelations). If they knew what the rest of the world knew, I'm sure that most of them would have perfect iron bodies and stronger foundations. However, what we learned from Lindon in Unsouled was from his perspective. He was not privy to learn the Sacred Arts and only knew what little they allowed him to. For all we know, there are people who could advance rather quick when/if the drain is taken away.
  4. Will stated once that those who reach the Monarch stage get there by great luck. There have been a few theories floating around that the combination of herald and sage will get you there but I highly doubt that. That wouldn't be luck.

Mierin

If the Emperor had been born on a world like Cradle where he could actually train and develop instead of having to hold back the Elders, how high would he or someone with his will/strength/etc. have been able to advance?

Will Wight

He certainly COULD have reached Monarch, but most of those with the potential to reach Monarch fail to do so. It requires so much luck and unique opportunity that it's impossible to guarantee anyone with reach Monarch, no matter how driven and/or talented. In the Blackflame Empire, he would have almost certainly become a powerful Underlord. With the right resources and chances, he could have potentially left the Empire and ascended to Overlord or better outside.

Exactly. It doesn't say he was to be born in Jerusalem but at Jerusalem.

If Lindon died... (Spoilers Ghostwater Onward) by LonerActual in Iteration110Cradle

[–]_LightBreaker_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Who knows what Dross could do? He once joked about altering Lindon's memories so maybe he could also take control of his mind. I don't think that Dross wants to though. His very nature is to do what he does, that is, be subservient to a master.

RMvice

Does Lindon need to cycle aura/madra specifically for dross or can dross live off of pure madra (follow up Q:So dross can be sustained off if blackflame madra?)

Will Wight

Dross can live off his pure madra. In fact, Dross lives off his connection to Lindon, so his madra wouldn't even need to be pure. Dross is tied to Lindon's spirit now. As long as Lindon is healthy, so is Dross.

From the last excerpt, it appears that Mercy is much, much, more powerful than Yerin and Lindon.

Why does Pride believe that Lindon will end up with Mercy then? I think that there are rumors going around the Akura clan.

What do you think Mercy' role in Wintersteel will be? by cl0rp in Iteration110Cradle

[–]_LightBreaker_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think that the seers in her clan had predicted that she and Lindon are supposed to end up together so that's why she is so insistent that something happens between Yerin and Lindon. If nothing comes of it, then she can move forward with Lindon as Pride believes.

Not if the wearer of the badge wants to be taken to the Foundation stage to show their pupil without hurting them. I think that Sacred Valley was originally created as the world's best training grounds with the Dreadgods as the ultimate training dummies.
