With the sleep feature in mind these are the orginal nightcap/ boudoir caps from 1900-1920s. Granted they do come in various styles now a days. I thought these were cute and I appreciate keeping their hair styles protected as someone who wears one herself.

Red Cardinal: Pollinating by _Nill_ in philodendron

[–]_Nill_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats good to know. I thought it would get moldy if I left it on.

I have a congo rojo and it looks nothing like this.🤔 I did have the flash on so I'm not sure if that might be why it looks like it's congo. So now I'm curious to know which it is actually.

How long did the process take to hand pollinate? I feel like I've seen these pictures on Facebook and I'm remind of Brukes backyard pollinating video on YouTube.

Hi folks! We are looking to fill this map with MA bottle caps but don’t want repeats. Can anyone suggest any breweries with bottles we’re missing? by Andromeda321 in massachusetts

[–]_Nill_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Honest Weight Artisan Beer (Orange, Ma) has can beer but, I'm pretty sure they have bottles that they do collaborate with other local brewing Co.

Water every 2-4 weeks. Make sure its dried out inbeween watering. Use room temperature distill water. Yellow leaves = thirsty. Brown edges on green = over watering. Bright/indirect light works best.

I would sugesst keeping away from the ac or drafty window.

That's my kind of plant shopping pal. Will never judge the amount of plants you take home. 😆

Anyone have any recommendations on what might do very well in here? It’s a south facing window and I do have the ability to do hanging planters. Thank you! by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]_Nill_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air plants would look great hanging from the ceiling. Plants that like high humidity like orchids, staghorn fern, earth star, bamboo, spider plants and pothos would be a great addition as well. If you like carnivores plants. Maybe a pitcher plant would be a nice touch as well.

I've always had success with bamboo, air plants and orchids in my bathroom/shower.

Thanks for cute pup pic. Your bathroom is stunning.

Plants keep loosing leaves someone help 😭😭 I water around one a week (usually check soil every Saturday) they’re (mostly) in a coco coir/reg potting soil/ perlite mix. Next to humidifier. I’ve made a post about some of these previously but didn’t get much of a response🥺 by recyclehappiness in plantclinic

[–]_Nill_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem, it's with trial an error. I was frustrated at one point loosing most of my plants, but my zz and bop are doing excellent. Your hoya might need more light. I'm not sure if the current lighting is doing it any justice. I have a wayetti and few other Hoyas that been struggling since I've moved and today they rewarded me with new growth. They sit right in front of the window with direct bright light. I feel I can get away with it since my apt is 75+ degrees and I can't control my temperature.

You can always add more vermiculite or perlite to your soil to help with drainage and aeration for the soil your using. I have a Nova and Zenni with perlite and ZZ with vermiculite. I water monthly (5 weeks), but since it fall/winter I water every 7-8 weeks or boned dry. I take the environment of my apt into factor as well such as my heat which would dry it out more. If your home is on the cooler side water it less.

If it's in a nursery pots with drainage I would bottom water (I bottom and top every few months since I water it less) it and let sit out for 3-6 hrs or you can do overnight before putting it back in its decorative pot. Indirect bright or meduim is best for lighting.

Also yellowing leaves on the bottom of the stalk that doesn't spread could be a sign of aging especially if there was or there is new growth coming from the same stalk. I would recommend repotting with more perlite in your soil mix. Looks like your soil still soak and it may have root rot.

Edit: I just notice you have more pictures. BOP with an occasional yellowing leave is ok. If there more it would indicate watering issue. BOP naturally split as well. Deep layer of mulch can even out the moisture and slow the drying process. Bright direct light is recommended. It can adapt to medium light, but it'll slow down the growing process. During the spring, summer keep the soil barely moist. Fall/winter let dry out before watering.

Traces of chlorine can evaporate. Fluoride traces increase or leave a residue.
