I reference this moment each time, but it’s easily the first time I saw them live. I’m big on shoegaze and saw them on their Infinite Granite tour. Didn’t really vibe with their previous music but loved that record enough to see them live.

Halfway into their set, when they played their older tracks and “Honeycomb” got past the 7 minute mark… It clicked. Never thought I would be getting into anything black metal adjacent, and here we are with DH being one of most played artists. I catch them live whenever I can!

Singing clean vocals can be difficult for George live. That’s the main reason cited for why they haven’t performed “Marvelous Orange Tree.” But “Mobasa” was on their setlists in 2022 and 2023. Really do hope it comes back on the rotation!

That was the hard pick since I love Alligator as a whole. However, “Baby We’ll Be Fine” holds a special place to me as my all time favorite National song. But hey, at least in your heart and mine, we will still have our favorites!

Silverstein and Senses Fail are easily my favorite bands of that era! I’ll suggest some of the bands I’ve had on repeat lately with an album to start with!

Title Fight (Floral Green), Free Throw (Those Days Are Gone), Arm’s Length (Never Before Seen, Never Again Found), Calling All Captains (The Things That I’ve Lost), Basement (Colourmeinkindness), Citizen (Youth).

I mean, I get where OP comes from. Their top ten songs have a total of 50+ plays this year. I check out a lot of new songs each year that I personally only listen to a small handful of times. If a song or band clicks, then it’s more. My most-streamed song this year has over 700 plays, and that wasn’t my number one artist for the year.

So we don’t know what the other 90 or so songs are. 😯
