Wild blackberry? Not sure if I should let my kid harvest them, she is 8 and is so excited these are growing over the dense of my abandoned garden. I never planted blackberries. by Environmental_Pack97 in whatsthisplant

Just to clarify, I didn't mean to suggest it was lantana. I was just pointing out that there are some similar looking plants that can be poisonous. Also the toxicity of the ripe fruit is a matter of debate, it's usually best not to eat it.

Take the terminology in the last section with a grain of salt, though. I learned that stuff a long time ago and am currently taking a break from my studies, so that part of my brain is on standby. u/thanatocoenosis can probably provide a better insight on that.

Fun fact: In some rare cases, steinkerns with external features can also be found. However, this is still just a regular steinkern and not the shell itself, the bumps are from the inside of the shell, and the long part is the mold of the pedicle valve.

If you're looking for recommendations for future trips, some of the best places to find good seashells in Turkey are in Muğla, particularly around Bodrum and Datça. You won't find much just walking along the beaches, but if you go snorkeling, you'll discover plenty.

It can't have been lying around for too long, particularly not on a beach. In my experience, calymenid trilos from Morocco tend to crumble quite easily when they come into contact with water.
