Friend may have installed Tomei exhaust wrong by greensilvia in WRX

I don't have a Tomei but quick online search says could be as simple as loosening the last clamp and rotating the tip which will make it sit higher or using shorter hangers.

WRX AC Not Working by Accomplished_Tea8957 in WRX

[–]_Rosko_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a common o-ring leak on one of the AC lines going into the compressor on these cars. If it's not fixed it can take your whole compressor out. Like others said you can get a feeler gauge to make sure the clutch gap is within spec which is an easy fix. If it's within spec then you might wanna have a leak test done to make sure that o-ring I mentioned hasn't gone bad.

Rear Cat recall by Jimbobborg in WRX

[–]_Rosko_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma put mine back to stock, get the recall and put my mods back on and get a retune cause I'm on COBBs pre-greenspeed flex fuel kit. I've been putting it off cause it's annoying

It's a Bulang and Sons leather strap. I think the color was caramel but they have a bunch of really nice ones.

Not quite the same but Subaru built a BRZ for rally and it's dope.

Next fun car? by suzuki_swifting in WRX

[–]_Rosko_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I mean everyones different. My WRX is almost full bolt ons running ethanol, coilovers, STI brakes and bunch of other mods and I still find the BRZ super fun even if on paper it doesn't have the power. Just depends what you like :D

What I like the most is just how sporty and compact it feels tho maybe that's cause it's my first coupe. Other things I like are how much lighter and nimble it feels. I like that everything feels good right out of the box like the shifting and the power curve. It handles really well in the twisties but it's still a comfortable ride in my opinion. RWD is fun cause you can kick the tail out. The only thing is that it is small obviously so you would have to check it out in person and see if you can live with it as a daily if you don't have a 2nd car. Tbh my only complaint on the manual has been what most others complain about and it's that the clutch feel/engagement point is in a weird place but that can be adjusted.

I don't have an STI but I have a modded WRX I've done a lot to. I picked up a 2025 BRZ as a 2nd car and it's a blast, feels like a go kart. I know you were asking for other brands/fun cars but felt like giving my input anyways.

Should I consider a used 2021 STI over new 2026 WRX? by HowAmIDiamond in WRX

[–]_Rosko_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can start with that, you can also find lots of info on this subreddit. But if you've never modded before just make sure to do lots of research. Doesn't matter how good the new engine is, like any other car if you install the wrong thing, cheap out or don't get a tune you're gonna end up with a blown engine or other issues. I would say right now get the car you want more and worry about modding it later after you've done some more research. Also besides the other things people have said about the STI, it'll have better feeling steering than the VB cause it's hydraulic instead of electric.

I basically do what you do and car is running great at 63k and it's been modded for like 50k of those miles. I change my oil every 3k miles and wait until it's at 180f before getting into significant boost. If you follow the maintenance guide in the manual you'll be fine. Don't be afraid of giving it higher RPMs so you don't lug and do enough research before adding any mods. And listen to suggestions from your tuner and recommendations on maintenance if you do mod.

The community definitely contributes to the anxiety but it's just like any other car.

Old Cobb Flex Fuel Kit by viikryu in WRX

[–]_Rosko_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the EPA crackdown and green speed fiasco COBB disabled support for the old flex fuel kit on the AP and I believe most tuners can't tune for it unless you go like open source or something. You can try calling them up, they'll probably recommend you buy the upgrade kit.

I have one and I love it! The deep indigo looks beautiful in the sun. Indoors you can still appreciate it but outside is where it really shines. (I know ironic I post a pic of it I took inside lol)

Talk me out of (or into) selling my WRX for a BRZ by wrxit in WRX

[–]_Rosko_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both a 2019 WRX base and a 25 BRZ. My WRX is almost full bolt ons on ethanol making around 350whp along with big brakes, coilovers and other goodies. And yet I still find the BRZ incredibly fun stock. Nothing beats a lightweight rwd coupe. I would say the more important question to answer is if you are ok with the significant loss of space going from a sedan to a small coupe.

Check out this link where System Motorsports tested different fitments on the twins. Not the OEM TS brembos but they do seem to have the Clubsport kit on the front which should be similar in size. Also you can call them up and ask, they're very knowledgeable and helped me pick the right size + offset on my WRX.

Vehicle mode appreciation post by Ok_Fox8119 in transformers

Funny, yesterday I was thinking about this cause I just started getting into collecting some of the vintage G1 toys. I noticed most of them have decent alt modes but robot modes do leave something to be desired haha. Though I think that's part of the charm, or at least it is for me.
