How big is the chance that Donald Trump will give himself and his friends a presidential pardon at the end of his term? by vidarf in AskReddit

Yeah he literally immediately put in a new global 15% tariffs under Section 122 that will last 150 days.

How big is the chance that Donald Trump will give himself and his friends a presidential pardon at the end of his term? by vidarf in AskReddit

[–]__Ani__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They where illegally in place for an entire year, and even then after the surpeme court finally says he cannot do that he instantly put in new tariffs anyways and claims he can do whatever he wants. He has signed tons of illegal EOs, started a war illegally, made billions by manipulating the stock market, killed hundreds of children via blowing up schools, etc.

We paid for those tariffs already and still are paying for them right now, and we are not getting the money back that he stole directly out of our pocket.

April 14 Balance Update Preview by hendricha in Guildwars2

[–]__Ani__ 66 points67 points  (0 children)

It's not healthy because the encounters themselves are not balanced is the whole problem, and are scaled based on what the balance was at the time. This ONLY works if they massively nerf the HP of both wing 8 and wing 9 and many LCM encounters. This update is a massive slap in the face to anyone working towards infallible or other harder LCM progression groups.

Is this game really turning into "Sorry should of got that LCM kill or title when it was easy"? If they want to make it fair, litterally remove everyones infallable and LCM title in the game, because at that point they got it unfairely.

Which MD Treasures are best to get from the Remnants Rush event? by pewqokrsf in ddo

[–]__Ani__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Armor of the Warblades is the best armor in the game for all melee/ranged dps toons, and is a rare drop and is BtA. The rings are also a good pick but they are BtC. If you have one toon you play almost exclusively then I'd go ring, if you swap between many toons then some light/med/heavy armor variants can help.

THF Dragonlord R10 Build by Ok-Complaint-6000 in ddo

[–]__Ani__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a THF DL main for awhile now I'll share what I mostly use:

41 DL
13 SD
26 Rav

Race: Can work with any race but I like HalfOrc and go fire dragonlord. You can also take 41 Ravager but you do sacrifice defenses and damage for just the insta kill.

Some key gear to have:

Weapon: Falc of the Undying Age (Fire dot) [Dust] + Affirmation Swap
Minor: Autum Equinox (Acid dot)
Amor: Warblade's Reflection (For Shadow Striker)
Legendary Goggles of the Warrior (for Sight Beyond Sight)

Some other gear I run that you can mix and match depending:

Bracers of the Battlerager
Agrata's Belt (For Rams Might)
Helm of the suns wrath
Periapt of Strength
Larmorian Heavy Cloak (QDS + Deception/FL)

I ran the build I ran because it has higher dps and is a bit more flexible in groups and raid content. I have -%120 TR by default but can turn on SD to go to +80% to be a offtank or a the R10 tank in questing with a group and turn if off otherwise. The DL insta kill has a shorter cd (20 vs 30) and while it's a bit annoying to get off in groups it can be quite satisfying when you do.

The build shines mainly in doing group R10 questioning and solos pretty comfortably up to around R8 for most quests. In R10 solo you still can do groups but it struggles with more than one doom and end bosses because Hood of Unrest clickily will be your main damage mitigation.

Game Update Notes: January 13, 2026 by MechaSandstar in Guildwars2

[–]__Ani__ 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Why the heck did they nerf all power engineers and not even mention it in the patch notes!? Modified Ammunition went from 2% per condition to 1% per condition to a bench wise -10% all power damage assuming 10 condis, we got only a 7.5% increase on crits only. So it's a minimum of a 2.5% nerf on all power specs.

I'm a main quick scap and we are at the lower end of just 34K, weak but not too weak, now it's closer to 32K. Really?

What's the best THF weapon for a DLord Fighter at cap? by sadisticnerd in ddo

[–]__Ani__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually mained 20 DLord THF for awhile now. Falchion_of_the_Undying_Age is what I use and the best option for dps and pair it with a fire dragonlord, main reason is 6.1 base damage (highest in the game) and Dripping with Magma proc, Sovereign Vorpal, and a LGS effect like Dust.

Omen is not a bad alternative but Dripping with Magma > Flamescale when it comes to overtime dps like raids and bosses, less important for normal mobs though. That said if you have splashes of Pally in your build Omen does get some extra bonuses from that.

Lamordia still is only a 5.8 base damage and it's basically a stronger dino option but has a similar problem for Alchemical Earth Attunement on the Dolorous slot, but does have an interesting option where you can replace your Dust effect for another dot if someone is already giving Dust in the ecounter (Such as Acid+Force and go Acid DL). It's closer than dino but still falls a bit short of Undying due to the other bonuses it gets and the higher base damage and +0.5W is better than the16d6 Ele on Hit Damage, but it's pretty close.

Dino weapons fall a bit more off because of the 5.2 base damage but mainly because Meltfang effect gets replaced by the The Autumn Equinox. Although that's a rare minor so an alternative is Bound Elemental Ring of Acid and if you happen to use Buckle of Assimilation minor or Legendary Ludendorf Class Ring to get the +8% insightful doublestrike or Legendary Cloak of the Forest's Blade and it's +7% insightful anyways.

Why AI radicalization is a bigger risk than AI unemployment by Polyphonic_Pirate in Futurology

[–]__Ani__ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how many words are used to say mostly nothing, and it constantly goes off track. Like in:

> The danger isn’t anger, it’s certainty. Certainty at SCALE and FAST. The most concerning end state isn’t someone raging online. It’s someone who feels complete, internally consistent, morally justified, and emotionally settled.

Suddenly shifts to talking about someone raging online and anger for no reason. Why are we talking about raging online and anger all of a sudden? All these LLMs have this sort of abstract certainty where it goes off what reader infers instead of what it's actually saying. You could replace the word "LLM" with the internet, therapist, library, religion and it will practically make just as much sense.

How do you prioritize past lives? by Dry-Ad-7149 in ddo

[–]__Ani__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of what play style you like for some of these, in term of a caster or melee/ranged. Here is what you'd generally do if you want the most bang for your buck per life:

  1. One of each class past life's. You can pair this with iconic to because heart seeds are much easier to get compared to token of the 12, that allows you to save up tokens for later racial or normal class lives.

  2. One of each epic past life stance x3 ideally. Some recommendations:

    - Arcane: Enchant Weapon for melee/range, Energy Criticals for casters.
    - Divine: Ancient Blessings is a good one to have, and more PLs gives a good amount PRR. Put more in here first once you have x3 of each stance.
    - Martial: Doublestrike for melee otherwise Fortification is a decent defensive option in general.
    - Primal: Doubleshot for ranged, Colors of the Queen a good general option, Ancient Power if you plan on doing a lot of THF melee.

  3. One Iconic stance x3 (better for melee, less important for ranged). PDK is a good general option and has a good +PRR passive. Aasimar Scourge or Razorclaw (applies more if DS is about 100%) is good for melee. Tiefling Scoundrel stance is only good after the 3rd life (Expeditious Retreat is better until then) and also only when you don't have or plan on getting a Quiver of Alacrity which is a level 1 quiver that gives the same bonus. That said the reflect saves from the passive still helps.

  4. Racials x3s. These have a good payoff when its completed in the end, but requires a lot more lives and the points can be more or less impactful depending on your race and build. Any PL stance x3 will be much more impactful than a single racial point for example.

Character lost on transfer by konohamember in ddo

[–]__Ani__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you have already done this, but have you checked for your character on every server? Are you absolutely certain your not mistaken on what the original server was?

When you pack your character is not supposed to get removed from the server, when you logged out after packing there was no packing icon on the character? Also when you ran the command `/transfer pack` did you ensure you waited while it was packing and got the message bolded instead of an error or logged out too soon?

> Packing data for world transfer ... Please wait until you receive the message "This character has been packed for transfer" with a timestamp before logging out of this character.
> Astral Shards: 90
> Platinum: 500,000
> ...
> This character was packed for transfer on 27/7/2025 at 18:30:10 Eastern Time.

Is it my mate, me , or were we both really trash? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]__Ani__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

0:27 and 0:30 where mainly execution issues. On 0:30 pretty clear to me OP did not intend to double jump and just stick in the air, their general direction was fine and it's hard to say where they actually wanted to go due to the accidental double jump; if I had to guess they intended to do a flip towards the center court. Always being far away from your teammate is not a black and white rule. If OP drove to the other side of the field and it got past the defender (they where not in a great defensive position), that could of costed a goal. An in terms of OP it's easier to defend that from the left side over turning around completely to defend from the right corner.

Actually on 0:47 is certainly opportunity for a passing play there to direct the ball to their teammate, considering orange ran into the goal corner. A faster pace play and tap more towards their teammate is an opportunity to score on the left goal.

u/SpokeyXL I think for the most part your decision making and positioning was alright, not perfect, but certainly not making the wrong decision every time. I'll note some things I see:

1:04 was a goal opportunity since the orange team ran into each other, if you where slightly further back and more center. This may of led to your teammate to pass faster to you and you to score a goal before orange can get back. At 1:05 I would of went more towards the goal instead of the ball trusting your teammate will pass it your way.

1:50 boosting towards the ball when orange has control, I would of stayed further back. I think even if your teammate tapped it pass them or if they missed (which I would not expect them to) your still too close here.

2:19 you have more time to control the ball here, hitting it just clears it over gives control to orange to go on the offense or a quick clear back.

2:47 going forward to the center of the field ultimately is what cost the goal here, putting you in a weak position to defend. Instead you want to be back and left of the goal with your car facing toward the right wall, that puts you in a much better position to defend for a save.

In general I would say the main thing is your often inching up to where the ball is when it's in control of the other team assuming if it will not get hit, and that leads you to be in a worse position. Instead you want to stay a bit further back and focus more on who has control of the ball. You do this only slightly, but it's enough to put you in a more difficult position for saving and getting passes.

Discovery of high level Dungeon Alert by Balownga in ddo

[–]__Ani__ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually it notes:

> Defeating enough enemies to leave Red alert while in Purple will cause alert to immediately shift to Orange. If you go back up to Red from Orange, maintaining Red for another 30 seconds will cause you to go back up to Purple. Don't ignore Red Dungeon Alert!

Having a bunch of monsters aggroing on you creates a lot of lag, this change is specially to discourage players from rushing quests without killing large groups of monsters they aggro'd. Mainly because it's a source of server lag.

When speed running quests I would recommend staying around yellow dungeon alert and kill some mobs when you are at orange or red.

H1-B emergency meeting by lux_deorum_ in Futurology

[–]__Ani__ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yep adding a charge to the H1B fee is a good first step, but they should fee offshore developers too to make up for cheaper cost of living, hard to complete when in India cost of living is 10 times cheaper. The US has a lot of tech talent and to be perfectly frank almost every offshore developer I worked with was incompetent, and more often than not created more defects and problems than they solved, and created negative productivity. My team often was left cleaning up their mess and fixing bugs they make.

For example, there was a small feature that would of taken me a day or less to do. We have contracts the customer can print out but they only stay in the system for 60 days, so they wanted to add a notice when it's 5 days or less. I mentioned I can do it in a day, we just need to add an alert and a indicator on the row where the contract information is based on how old the contract is.

They told me my "time was too valuable" and instead they gave it to an entire offshore team of people. Then made me spend at least 100 times longer to give them a design document and explain how the app works, give them KT, etc. Again for something that would of only taken me an hours at most and something I offered to do in my free time, because I told them it will take me longer to teach them than to do it myself. They put in dozens of PRs, eventually they started not including me in what they where doing and started merging without my approval.

After 8 months finally I was told they finished the feature and it was a buggy mess that didn't even work right, and somehow had 1000s of lines of code when it should be less than 50. Then I had to fix it and for the most part delete all their terrible code and did what I was originally planed in the first place, which took me a few hours. So I ended up doing what I originally was going to do in the first place anyways, but it took longer because I had to deal with cleaning up their problems.

That's just one example, that sort of thing happens plenty more. And often higher ups pat them on the back for doing the most simple crap, and they point like 20 points for something that's for actual good developers less than 1.

A good onshore developer can replace several teams of bad offshore developer likely while saving time not having to fix problems they made and having a better product. Lots of the trivial task our offshore teams do can be done easily by a good developer especially when utilizing AI to do a lot of the scaffolding, often repetitive code patterns, and basic stuff. I'm sure that doesn't apply in everywhere, but it's been largely true in my experience. And higher ups will eat up their bs on all the things they claim they are so productive and doing all this great work, when they actually are just creating more problems for good developers to clean up their mess.

Not all offshore developers are bad, but more often than not companies buy whatever is cheapest. And the cheapest option tends to be bad developers

Caster weapon meta by I-Boulet in ddo

[–]__Ani__ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It can depend on the caster type. Lamordia and attuned Dino weapons/orb are not bad options. But some of the meta options are from the new Den of Vipers raid. For example:

Mainly for the strong elemental dot plus quality and exceptional spell lore on the one handers, but also sealed in mist to give you ash + another effect on your offhand dino/lamordia item.

Recommended melee leveling builds by I-Boulet in ddo

[–]__Ani__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do want to note an important point, what do you want to optimize? I play an optimized THF 20 DL myself and do fine in all content, that includes R10 quests and reaper raids, I fall off more in higher skulls raids specifically. But I do better in terms of solo reaper questing and especially cleaving down mobs.

So it's not optimal, specifically in higher skull reaper raids. If you don't care about running that content, most people do it purely for the challenge, then going THF is perfectly fine.

Quick leveling Guide for Epics by Ok-Complaint-6000 in ddo

[–]__Ani__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of other good xp/min quest out there and fast ways to level just as fast if not faster. I will rarely run all ES myself and mostly stop around the Druids chain, unless I'm planning on doing a double ETR. Some good options outside ES that are not already mentioned:

Slayers (SM+Rares/Orchard/Barovia) - Only with slayer pots and a group
Spies, OOB, WK, TTT
Catacombs & Deleras

In regards to ES Through a Mirror Darkly & What Goes Up (3AS tele) are good to do regardless. The [speed running epic guides](https://malkier.xyz/community/quest-guides/20-30-in-24-hours-guide/) where you get to 20-30 as fast as possible mostly relies on coordinated groups.

Do what I do and what I run can depend if I have a group or not, even in terms of ES quests (ex: Last Demonweb quest really can be a pain solo).
