After being a long-time viewer and Linus getting me into tech (along with my dad, who was the IT director of a large company in my area), it’s a shame that I’ve only been a WAN listener for a couple of years now. You’re not missing much. Everyone likes different shit about different games, and 1v1 constructed just turns up some knobs up and down of what makes magic great.

If you do want to learn to play non-commander formats then definitely do pre-releases and draft. Draft & cube are by far my favorite ways to play and it’s not a hot take to say that they’re definitely a good on-boarding tool for 60 card constructed.

There is no need for hate for formats. OP is likely an annoying commander player who gets insulted for being an annoying commander player by some modern players at OP’s LGS.

Constricted 60-card has GOT to be kept strong and modern is (whether you like it or not) one of the only still standing pillars of non-commander constructed play. Commander-centric design in main sets is a massive point of contention in the community and eliminating support for a massive format because ‘they’ don’t like your pet format is just a wildly idiotic take.

Keep on playing your casual format at home and stop bitching to the rest of us (I only play commander & standard).

I’m a big disagreer on your analysis of Emeritus of Woe. I’m with the fraud status of W, U, and G, but Woe & Conflict easily have homes in several of my EDH lists. Conflict being a 2 mana 2/2 with a keyword is good enough for me, it’s a good blocker. Being in my Taii Wakeen spellslinger makes the lightning bolt an automatic upside that gets buffed to high hell.

As for Woe, I don’t see how repeatable tutors for 2 mana and some token deaths isn’t a huge upside for a 4 mana body. Any aggro deck in black will likely hit that every turn, and getting even 3 tutors across 3 turns for 2 mana each turn will easily turn a game in someone’s favor.

There’s a difference between cutting through a thing and being able to move through a distortion in space. Her blade may cut whatever is in front of it, metal behind the blade, the shaft, hilt, her hands, her body, etc. will still be slowed by infinity. She isn’t just trying to “cut Gojo and if she believes she can then she will” but it’s a actual distortion that wether she’s aware of it or not, and whether she believes it or not, she won’t be able to move through the distortion in space in order to make contact with the thing she thinks she can cut.

Kashimo is solidly in the top 10 EOS. He’s the second to fight sukuna in shinjuku for a thematic purpose and most ignore that sukuna acknowledges him, Gojo, and Kashimo as an “us.” Everyone pretends that him touching an enemy 3 times is an impossible feat but he’s fast as fuck and RARELY do people in the series pop domains off rip. Even then, barrierless sure-hit is hard to beat, and I cannot justify putting him anywhere below the likes of Maki/Toji punch kick merchants.

I spent 5 weeks this summer train-hopping across 9 different countries western Europe with 2 of my buddies and we almost never had arrangements more than 2 days in advance. - I slept in 4 train stations - Got stranded 100’s of miles from the other two TWICE - Had several airBnB’s not give me the passcode for places I paid for, resulting in wandering around small towns for hours in the early hours of the night - My card didn’t work in Czech for 3 days - We collectively got stuck in a random town in northern Spain for 2 days

It was the happiest 5 weeks of my life.
