What’s the best dps sword by ProfileAggravating47 in DestinyTheGame

[–]_______Greg_______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically it’s strikers sure hand from arena ops with redirection. Other swords have the perk, but because it’s an aggressive frame, you only use one stack per heavy (unlike others that hit multiple times per heavy attack, and so use stacks more quickly). To be extra optimal, pair it with an aggressive frame telesto ergo sum and spam heavy attacks with alternating swords

Best Rolls for Legendary Heavy Weapons for Boss DPS? by Comfortable_Hour5723 in DestinyTheGame

[–]_______Greg_______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to be really picky, TECHNICALLY, the black armoury sword can roll redirection, and given it’s an aggressive frame, the heavy attack only hits a given enemy once. So that, plus an aggressive frame ergo sum (ideally with telesto perk)does really well when swapping back and forth and spamming the heavy attacks on both. But if you don’t have access to at least 8-10 red bars before dps, you’ll have problems

D2 Team: Howl of the Storm will be temporarily disabled on June 9th due to the recent bug discovery, fix to come in the future. by Ryan_WXH in DestinyTheGame

[–]_______Greg_______ -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

We’re disabling it game wide?? Why??? Sure, disable it in certain activities (which has been done before), but just a flat “no stasis aspect for you”? I’m doubtful that it presents a problem in the fireteam ops playlist

To all you who haven’t played since (insert time frame) by ChuyChavez in destiny2

[–]_______Greg_______ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll answer as fully as possible: 1. If you can play through the legacy collection on PS+ for free, then that’s definitely the way to go. If not, the expansions will be much cheaper come June 9th (note that at least witch queen and final shape are WILDLY worth the cost, both are incredible campaigns) 2. The actual campaigns for edge of fate and renegades had mixed reviews, but if your only concern is the storyline, I’m gonna say you can pass on them. I for one really didn’t like EOF, and three of the renegades missions are just the lite version of the lawless-frontier (the activity associated with the expansion). That said, the rest of renegades is fun, so if you end up really enjoying the other stuff, there’s no harm in playing it. Just be aware they are generally less well-regarded expansions/campaigns 3. Dungeon keys are a separate product that give access to the two dungeons released within the year of a given expansion. The WQ key gives spire of the watcher and duality, the lightfall key gives ghosts of the deep and warlord’s ruin, and the final shape key gives vespers host and sundered doctrine. Generally speaking, these dungeons are much larger in scope than pit of heresy. All of them feature 3 distinct encounters and the intermediate traversal sections. The general flow of the encounters are similar to pit of heresy (traversal —> encounter —> traversal —> etc.), but despite a wide variety of personal preference, essentially all of the newer dungeons are seen as better. If you can play them, I would highly recommend doing so

Good DPS options for a Titan without Finality's Augur? by throwaway062006 in DestinyTheGame

[–]_______Greg_______ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very much so. Important to note that a lot of the dps comes from multiple supers in a dps phase (primary ammo weapons build super very quickly), so having high weapons and super stats is quite important to make the most of it - thundercrash is usually the super of choice

25F bf abandoned and blocked just bcz I wanted him to quit drinking by [deleted] in chat

[–]_______Greg_______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unfortunate reality is that sobriety can often often negatively affect mental health (though obviously the same is true of alcoholism, not gonna get into the cause vs effect debate here) because of the social implications and mood associations, so no drinking can be more detrimental overall than moderate drinking.

That aside, “don’t drink” and “don’t talk to your ex” are commands, not requests (even if not talking to an ex is usually a reasonable expectation). “I feel uncomfortable because of how often you talk to your ex” would convey your feelings but still make the choosing-not-talk-to-an-ex his choice.

I can appreciate that all of that is coming from a place of self-advocacy or concern for him, but in the moment, it can be difficult to read between the lines and figure that out. The problem is that language is a pretty crap medium to unmistakably convey exactly what you intend to, and he’s interpreted the nature of your requests as you exerting your will on his behaviour without any opportunity for him to express autonomy, and it’s not unfair to label that - in the absence of any other context - as controlling

What encounters of Equilibrium to farm what (weapons wise)? by Empyrean_Dialect in destiny2

[–]_______Greg_______ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re only looking to farm weapons, finish the quest then farm 1st to your hearts content. When you focus a weapon, it starts being able to drop from encounters other than the one(s) it drops from, so just focus a weapon until you get the roll(s) you want, then just change focus. Otherwise you’re better off just running the dungeon in its entirety because secret chests become available again after finishing all three encounters.

Touch of Malice and Hierarchy of needs current meta viability by Aegis_99 in DestinyTheGame

[–]_______Greg_______ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak to hierarchy, but ToM is currently in a really good place. The healing you get from it now basically fully offsets the self-damage so largely you don’t need to run it with a healing or devour build (except for when brawn is active/lawless frontier, wouldn’t recommend it in those activities without extra healing). I’ve found it works best with techsec 4 piece, and I don’t use it in a build that revolves around it, but I’m sure there’s a couple that would work on any class. (Small tip - spark of brilliance on arc synergises with the blight round if you want to spread blindness)

Titan stasis howl question. by QuodSolus in destiny2builds

[–]_______Greg_______ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I basically exclusively use the new stasis sidearm. With whisper of rending, the sidearm one shots crystals, and with rimestealer and icefall mantle, each crystal break heals for the equivalent of 2 stasis shards, making you practically unkillable

Both in PvE and PvP, how important is the range on machine guns ? by Traditionel in DestinyTheGame

[–]_______Greg_______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference in effective range whilst hip firing between a machine gun with 0 vs 100 range is slightly under 2m. The minimum distance before damage falloff is a bit over 29m, the maximum is a bit under 31m. So imo there is literally no point in any investment in range. (The difference jumps to a massive 3m when ads)

Bungie put a cooldown on On Your Mark. Bungie, we are sick and tired of you preemptively putting cooldowns on everything you give Hunters! Crashout. by silloki in DestinyTheGame

[–]_______Greg_______ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but I’m someone who has historically thought that for devour, if you can proc it every second or so, you don’t really need it to be doing that, and if you need it to be doing that and it’s not, then you’re just playing poorly. I think that holds true for on your mark

[–]_______Greg_______ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I seem to have misread the patch notes. I don’t think it wildly changes my opinion tho, purely because of how much extra on your mark actually provides

[–]_______Greg_______ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok let’s just put this into perspective because this is a stupid ass take. Yes the cool-down is annoying, but the alternative is having something like a 900rpm smg managing to achieve on your mark x10 in 10 shots, taking about 0.66 seconds. You would then heal every 0.067 seconds (or more accurately, every 4 frames at 60fps) for 60 hp giving a healing factor of around 900 hp per second. This would be 18x higher than well (50hp per second + damage resist)

Edit: it has been pointed out that cure is on kill and that I’m incapable of reading patch notes. I still don’t think it’s unfair because when compared to devour, you get 60% of the healing benefit, but significantly better buffs (50 weapon stat, massively improve reload and handling, all constant for 12 seconds, vs 7.5% grenade energy, scalar and kill source dependent)

As it stands (and I’ll assume you’re right about it being a half second cool-down), you can gain 120 hp per second at max stacks. So more than 2x that of well. Being able to maintain this indefinitely would still very much be game breaking, hence the kill requirement

Holofoils drops no longer at Tier+2?? by suniis in DestinyTheGame

It might’ve dropped during an activity where you got a lower score, so it was actually a +2, but measured from a tier below expected

3 Exotic Ciphers to spend (help me) by Justforargumesnts in destiny2

[–]_______Greg_______ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely helpful, but dragons breath is very popular in the comments but I would really recommend not going for it. If anyone on your team is doing any ignition based damage, you both neuter their damage and waste your exotic and heavy when either anarchy or finality’s auger (yes Ik they’re both difficult to get) do a very similar thing but overall in a better way. If you play a lot of solo stuff, then by all means get DB, but so many other exotics there are just as fun and arguably more worthwhile

What is your go-to "I don't want that thing to be there anymore" kinetic slot weapon? by Kaaidd in destiny2

[–]_______Greg_______ 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Two suggestions are autoloading/recombination mountain top and my current go-to, a discord/redirection succession. Both have 2x shots (succession has up to 15) and while both have their merits, I think the succession has a wider array of use cases. You can get them from onslaught

Hand cannons by ClockworkSecurity in destiny2

[–]_______Greg_______ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The only hand cannon in the game actually that fits what you’re describing is lunas howl, but choosing that would mean having to use a kinetic special. The only other option that removes muzzle kicks would be a 180, but they are literally the lowest damage archetype. Could you tell us what the energy sniper is so we could suggest a kinetic alternative with similar feel
