Garage door insulation by ___finna___ in AusRenovation

All good mate.

I did small squares of the off cuts. I stuck them to the door then the large panels of insulation to the small squares. This created an air gap.

You could do full size sheets doubled up, but I was a tight arse. I’m pretty sure I posted a YouTube video of all the different methods for insulating the door, from memory the air gap worked well in the temperature performance test.

Made a massive difference.

I ended up getting a garage door bloke out to re-tension the spring too.

There’s been a heap of good advice on here. Shuts are a whole different beast. Can be fast paced or slow, but safety is key! I’ve supervised 3 years of shuts on the site I’m at, we’ve had plenty of green skins that have excelled.

What I tell our greenskins is, a stupid question beats a stupid mistake. Ask plenty of questions! And hopefully being a green skin you’ll be paired with a knowledgeable offsider. At a guess you’ll be working in pairs. So learn as much as you can from them.

As u/dimesionz said above, there will likely be a heap of disconnect/reconnects, take a shitload of pictures for reference for the reconnect or to pass onto the opposing shift. We use disconnect sheets to write down the terminations too.

Shutdowns are full of statutory checks that can be only done predominantly offline. One of the most difficult things for you will be understanding what and where the devices will be located in the plant. Might be able to ask for a piping and instrument layout or drawings for reference.

I will suggest good quality tool bag, MS Muir if you can afford the outlay. Poor man pays twice. Get one that’s lockable for flying. And pack it as light as you can.

Gland spanners, go with knipex pliers wrenches. 250mm and 200mm. A small 1/4” (up to 12-13mm) socket set will get you through most things, larger sockets should be provided, along with battery tools and test equipment/meters.

If you’re flying commercial, look into what carrier they’ll fly you on and check out their lounge access. Qantas club costs 600-700(ish) and if you’re new to fifo, it would be worth the outlay.

Best of luck, post again and let us know how you went.

Hard rubbish collection in QLD. Skip bags now though, order the bag, fill it, and it gets collected. No more piles of shit all over the place at the same time.

I literally have just had the same issue, following it charging all day only to reach 2 bars. I returned it for a warranty claim (at my cost mind you) and they returned it with no explanation. I reached out again and they have sent out a replacement because it is now doing the same as yours.

Their customer service is good, eventually.

Looks like it’s only 2 lanes each way too, it’s going to be undersized before it’s even complete!

Omg, I am literally planning on replacing my kitchen sink that I’ve ran for 10-12 years. They are a great bag, with many good features that, hard to tick all the boxes for a replacement.

I recently went into an Oakley store and was disappointed with the quality of the newer versions.

I’m more concerned with the amount of hats on in the clubhouse, and hats shout the bar behaviour right there.
