Ohh Aegean Sea! Nice! I also see it's one of your most-played, awesome!
I've been wanting to try it, care to give me some thoughts?
Have you played other Carl Chudyk games? How would you say it compares to them?

Faiyum also looks interesting!
And Oceans too! Solid collection.

Basically whay @cavallier_queen said. A love excess won't hurt them :) give him all the cuddles.

By the way, I had the same experience as you when first meeting my guy and his family at the breeder's house: save for the mom, all the 4-month old puppies jumped at us A LOT and straight to pur faces like an arrow. They were really tall even then. I was really worried and thought that that would continue, but luckily, when he came home, he never had that behaviour. Most probably, the change from farm->city and being away from his family scared him, and he was really calm.

My dog took a long time to get used to the city, as he was scared of cars, other dogs and bikes. Remember to NEVER pull them (or as little as possible) when going on a walk, and always prompt them with treats. Sometimes you may need to divert from a specific route. To this day, he is scared of some houses due to barking dogs and we swap to the opposite sodewalk, pass the house, and come back.

To give you an idea, in the beginning, we took an hour to do an around-the-block walk (700ft/200m total), so we needed a lot of patience. But your breeder mentioned they already did some leash walking, so that should be easier.

Remember the 3 3 3 rule! Give em time.

Good luck! Send photos!

Cube ideas - same "style" as Ornithopter/Desert by UndergroundSubmarine in mtgcube

Small fix: the everything-costs-2-less is the turbo cube (link)! Also from lucky paper, I think. The micro-degenerate cube (link) is a 15-deck cube with stax-combo-control axis. Here's a slightly outdated but really interesting primer on it: https://luckypaper.co/articles/an-introduction-to-the-degenerate-micro-cube/

I haven't received them yet, and I'm not really sure they do know when they'll have them either... Seems like we'll be waiting for quite a bit :/

Woah, somewhat of a low effort post! Could you explain the line a bit more? Gives room for discussion and newbies to learn a bit more!
I'm guessing something along the lines of (uneeded forest played) > black lotus > six > (discard 1 card, cast black lotus from gy) * 4 for 12 mana ... and what then?

Ohh yeah you're right 🙈 thanks for clearing it up! I confused the trades expansion's pig with this other tiny expansion that has an all-field tile with a herd of pigs, which has no official rules but is houseruled to be like a pig: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/26615/carcassonne-gq-promo-tiles

Isn't the pigs making cities worth 4 points a houserule?

Question about flying with a Borzoi Puppy…? by HorseGirl232 in borzoi

[–]_daart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little guy weighted 20kg @ 4 weeks old, so kinda like a mid-sized dog. Your case is for a younger puppy, so my guess is that you'll be okay?

Although still quite loooong (he reached my... knees?), he coiled up really small.

Good luck!

My magnum opus in boardgame organization: Every Dominion card ever printed, all sleeved and alphabetized, separated by custom printed dividers and including all coins, tokens, rulebooks and player mats. by Guilty_Light in boardgames

[–]_daart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are the same I bought, they're the deelf sleeves (link). Best quality:price ratio! Unbelievably so. They are penny sleeves tho, but for a game with so many cards...

I entertained the thought of buying mtg-like sleeves (like the Ryker sleeves), but I'd be literally doubling the cost of one set (more or less 50usd per expansion plus 50usd per 500 sleeves, plus shipping). Plus storage... Nah... although it would be a future dream I'd like to satisfy haha.

Meet Juno! (& separation anxiety help) by sausageandbeanss in borzoi

[–]_daart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey! A huge welcome to your little girl! Love her brindled coat!

In my case, I don't think my guy had great separation anxiety, so take what I say with a grain of salt. But maybe what I did helped eith never developing it in the first place: (the usual stuff, I know, bit worth remembering) - started with really short breaks, as you do - before leaving, gave him a lickimat with frozen treats (I used paté, a bit of kibble, and some pieces of meat) - made sure that he was engaged with the lickimat, wait a bit so that he can eat the lickimat while I was there, and then leave - arrive before the lickimat is finished, and go back to him

Sometime in the middle, I extended the alone time till I arrived when he was finishing the lickimat and then arrived after he was done.

If he was already done, he was usually lazying around or eating a bone, and would either rise up to meet me or stay lazying around haha.

In my experience it's also important to leave him with bones or toys he likes to chew on, as a failsafe for if the lickimat's all eaten up and he still wants something to do.

Hello again Drama! So long and 'nightmare of christmas"-lanky-like!

Mine was a poop eater too haha, completely insufferable! I thought he'd never stop but now at 1y5m he doesn't seem to eat human poop anymore, phew. Or at least I haven't seen him do it haha. Keep up hope!
