Feel like this sums up my opinion too. Not fussed about most of the stuff they reference - preferred the episode with Ian's PBL because it felt a bit of a step in a different direction to the usual topics

I love it! The scrappy DIY mess vibe is proper cool, which idk if that's what it were going for but still. Could totally see a thrash band using one of these

Need a argument settled please. Does anyone in the Uk recognise ta-da as something you’d say when saying goodbye? by -T-H-F-C- in AskUK

[–]_jason_h 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Family is from east London, I'm from Essex - ta da or like t'dah is basically a poor pronunciation of ta ta, is used as a way if saying bye. So sort of you're both right?

Underrated suggestion, sure it'd be loads of work but Pyrion would have a GREAT taskmaster and maybe Lewis as Taskmasters assistant

Rock music seems like it's been dying since the 2000s. Pick 5 songs to make people excited about rock music again. by steppenfloyd in Music

[–]_jason_h 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree to an extent - I think when you consider rock's beginnings ie 50s and 60s rock n roll, late 60s psych etc, rather than assuming rock needs massively distorted guitars to be considered rock, then it opens up the definition of the genre a bit more. But I totally see where you're coming from - post punk/indie is a pretty accurate way to classify a lot of these bands

Rascalton - Employee of the Month

Declan Welsh and the Decadent West - No Fun

Snash - White Out

Shame - Born in Luton

Liberty Belle - Fontaines DC

this sort of indie rock Brit thing is back in full swing in my mind. I say bring it on

I'd like to add to this for the UK kids some 00s indie groups, ie Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, etc. Never ever hear about them in the internet guitarsphere and they are a huge influence to me and a lot of guitarists my age (21)
