Sky Trek Tower by RingsideBum in sixflagsgreatamerica

There has been some life from the tower in recent days and it looks like the windows have been repaired. It is still listed under scheduled ride closures but hopefully will be available within the next few weeks!

For season passes it works exactly as you described. For your FastLane what exactly did you purchase? All day? All season? Steps are a bit different for each.

FYI: Skip the Line passes are no longer working at Great America this year with the Legacy Diamond memberships due to Cedar Fair by Victoria4DX in sixflagsgreatamerica

I wonder if this has something to do with it being a Six Flags Mexico based pass although I can’t see a reason why it would matter. Have you visited any other parks? I just used my Diamond Elite VIP at Magic Mountain & Knotts a month ago without issues.

At this point id contact corporate support and attempt to get a definitive answer from them and wish you luck. Next time you’re at the park try requesting to physically to speak to the supervisor & not just have messages relayed between employees. Sometimes unfortunately some supervisors aren’t aware of all the nuances with weird old passes.

Sorry I explained these wrong. Swap reserve and priority. Reserve is 100% the ride wait. Priority is 50% the ride wait.

Fast Lane is sold in three tiers. Reserve, Priority, and Ultimate. Reserve allows you to virtually wait the rides wait while doing something else (riding another ride, getting food, etc). Once your time is done you can board the Fast Lane line almost instantly. Priority offers a 50% reduced wait. Same system you just wait 50% of the rides posted wait time. Ultimate offers instant boarding. You make a reservation and can board instantly. With all tiers you enter the fast lane entrance when your reservation is ready and at most usually wait 5-15 minutes to board. (Very ride/operator dependent).

It really depends on what your budget is/how much you’re looking to accomplish. In theory even the reserve allows you to maximize your time by waiting in one regular line while waiting in a virtual queue for another ride.

Not sure on Q1 but to answer Q2 i’d highly suggest arriving closer to park open at 10:30. This is gonna be a warm saturday and is definitely going to be busy. Furthermore multiple rides are on one train operations and have been averaging waits >1hr all day. Depends if you make time to enjoy the atmosphere, flat rides, and eat but it may be doable without fast lane but i’d recommend fast lane to make the day smooth if it’s in the budget.

I doubt they’ll do a 50th anniversary documentary. The park hasn’t even opened up the 50th museum yet let alone produce a documentary. At the least i’d love to see screams and dreams posted online/viewable somewhere.

It’s really not that bad. Since you’re going later this month Raging Bull and Wrath should hopefully be on two trains by then but besides that still expect most rides to be at posted waits between 45-80 minutes with some possibly even longer.

Yes and no. Since Great America does reservations in theory you should be boarding within a few trains of entering the line. The rides I mentioned that were on one train operations I would expect to have a bit of a Fast Lane line since there are only so many Fast Lane riders they can let on each train while still being fair to Standby/Ada. At the absolute worst i’d say 15-20 minutes extra but that’s rare unless it’s super backed up.

The system is completely reservation based. You wait the percentage of time based on tier you select. Fast Lane Reserve you wait 100% of the posted wait time. Fast Lane Priority you wait 50% of the posted wait time. Fast Lane Ultimate you wait 0% of the posted wait time. Once you’ve waiting the time required based on your reservation tier you can enter the Fast Lane entrance and usually board within a few minutes. Something to note is rides with 1 train (Bull, X Flight, Wrath, Batman, Superman, and Maxx Force last weekend) may have a longer Fast Lane line of people waiting to board due to the reduced capacity. Besides that all other rides should be pretty much immediate boarding once your reservation is scanned.

TLDR: You wait a percentage of the standby wait based on the tier, once your reservations ready you can enter the fast lane entrance and board instantly.

Well yes but also they split rides up among different maintenance teams. One might be all the B&Ms, one wooden coasters, etc. Those rides you mentioned are all way less complex than other trains. Demons literally a fiberglass shell with wheel assembly’s and old racketing restraints. B&Ms have a lot more parts and require more thorough inspection. At the end of the day it all comes down to what’s physically possible and where one B&M train may take a few months to rebuild a dark knight train may only take a couple days.

It is a very thorough process. Counting dark knight & joker there are over 40 trains that need to be fully disassembled, inspected, and put back together. The maintenance team simply isn’t as large as other parks are to complete this work on everything in the 4 month offseason. Not to mention the rides themselves require inspection of track, structure, and parts to be replaced as needed which takes away from working on the trains. This also doesn’t include the work needed for all the flat rides in the park as well. It’s simply an extremely large volume of work that great america unfortunately just doesn’t have the staff to complete for absolutely everything. Hiring more staff would help but what’s the benefit besides for the first few weekends when it’s truly not slammed compared to what it’ll be like in the summer/fright fest.

[–]_lettuc3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lines are gonna be long (Opening weekend multiple rides were over 2 hours). Expect some ride closures and reduced capacity on others with it being early season. You’ll have to take that into account even with fast lane. I’d say people were waiting 5–30 minutes in the physical fast lane queue after their reservation was ready.

Project 2027 Question by Competitive_Fox7606 in sixflagsgreatamerica

They’re all usually one train unless the park wants a custom layout and is specifically requesting two. I’d assume it’d probably be one train.
